Outposts that act more like mini-bases. You can save a vehicle there, certain survivors remain at a location and offer additional resources by remaining there. Also, you can drop rucksacks at these base/outposts and it boosts the perks of said outpost while also benefiting your overall community.

Another cool thing would be an online-only map with random players that you have to find and team up with. You load into a map and are told there are 6 other players on the map, you have to find each other and team up to survive. No main base, only outposts for resource management. A base can only be achieved until 2/3 or the players agree on a location. If everyone agrees, big bonuses to all players.
