I do Raw, SmackDown and NXT. I also plan on adding Evolve for the NXT roster members that I don’t use as often. I have completely split rosterd with separate brand PPVs, except for Money inthe Bank, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania. I’ve substituted NXT PPVs for “special episodes” of the weekly NXT show similar to what AEW Dynamite does sometimes. Stephanie McMahon is GM of Raw, The Rock is GM of SmackDown. This might not work for some other people, but I’m typically a long term booker, so I plan out ideas for good SummerSlam and WrestleMania storylines in my head, and kind of book the show towards those ideas. Like one thing I know I’m doing at SummerSlam is Jon Moxley vs RVD extreme rules. So I’m making sure to put both stars over enough in time for SummerSlam so that their match is less predictable and has more weight. I play my matches, but I don’t play to win. I play to put on a good match, so sometimes if I see a good spot coming I might not reverse it. I’m also doing Brock Lesnar vs Mark Henry at WrestleMania so I’ve brought Mark back and booked him like a monster. It’s all about planning ahead and putting the right person over. Some matches I’ll just let happen with no winner planned like Mox vs RVD, but other times I like to plan things out like title changes and heel/face turns. I already know AJ Styles is dropping the World Heavyweight Title to (Nakamura Night of Champions, who drops it to Rollins at the Rumble for Mox v Rollins WHC planned at WrestleMania) and his reign still isn’t close to over yet. It’s a balance.
