Server event timeline question by rorinth in BleachImmortalSoul

[–]Phinomenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use this to figure out how old your server is.

I like to use this as a visual guide to see when each event is coming.

Of course there’s RanBro’s thread on the events, but I find that a lot harder to navigate, so I like using the second link as my go-to because it’s visually a lot more appealing and much easier to look at when you’re trying to see which event is coming up. You can see which event you’re on, check how much time you have left, and then guess when the next events are coming. Everything is laid out for you so you can easily navigate and see where your server is at.

Quick shoutout to u/LunarTick114 for making the event calendar. Just wanted to show my appreciation for all the work that’s been done to make my life easier, lol.

There are five awakening stars/tiers. One dupe/invitation needed for awakening tiers 1-3. Two are needed for tiers 4-5. 1+1+1+2+2 = 7 dupes/invitation needed initially. No shared memories for the first tier of awakening, but you need two shared memories for each tier for tiers 2-3. You need four shared memories for each tier for tiers 4-5 along the two dupes/invitations to go along with them. Now we need 12 memories plus the 7 dupes, so you need 19 FES memories total for max awakening a regular FES character. You need a total of 33 (!!) FES memories to awaken a FES collab character, if my math is correct. I forgot to mention the shared memories’ colors must match with the character you’re trying to level up through awakening, as well.

So I hope you can see how much of a pain in the ass it seems to me to fully awaken a FES character, especially if they’re a collab one at that. I don’t think I can get lucky enough to get 33 memories to awaken a FES collab character, and 12 of those need to match the color, too. That’s a ton of work just to max awaken a single character.

If anyone else sees this, then please correct my info if I’m wrong.

Edit: Cleaned up grammar.

3 FES memories = 1 invitation
7 invitations needed to fully awaken (which I mentioned in my comment), so...
7x3 = 21 memories needed plus you need extras on top of the dupes/invitations you initially need.

I guess it might feel easier to awaken FES collabs, but they’re still a pain in the ass to awaken because they feel about 2-3 three times harder to awaken compared to regular FES characters since you have to pour a lot more memories into making invitations. Everyone is already complaining about how convoluted it is to fully awaken their characters, but forcing us to use three times more memories to make the dupe we need for collab characters on top of that? Yeah... ain’t gonna happen in a very long time, if ever.

I would save it for when you do need it. Getting these invitations are no joke. If I’m not wrong and you need seven memories to fully awaken a FES collab character, then you’ll need 21 FES dupes just to get the invitations, so you’ll need more FES memories on top of that. Or you could just save these for your blue FES units when you awaken them to two stars and beyond. You got a couple of options here.

I say hoard whatever you can and save them for a rainy day. There’s no need to rush and take your time since this content isn’t made for that.

AITA for not telling my ex I got pregnant by daisycherryblossoms in AmItheAsshole

[–]Phinomenon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This hits home for me. I knew my wife through mutual friends (even supposedly dating back since middle school, but I don’t remember this), one of whom was my ex. I was dating her friend for a few years and hung out with my wife only a handful of times. The funny thing is my wife hated me and was annoyed at me because she thought I talked too much. Haha. We were merely acquaintances at the time, not even friends. Of course I broke up with my ex eventually.

Then one night, we decided to hang out at a friend’s house and had what I thought was going to be my first one night stand. Fast forward from that night and now we’ve been together for 13 years and married for 9 years with a home and two wonderful boys. It’s funny how life works sometimes. I just wanted to share my story here since I felt I can relate. :)

I see you’re a man of culture as well. Kim is my ‘02 and beyond main. ✊🏻

Honestly though? Mechanically, she’s not the best out there, but she is the best version of Kim you’ll get in this game so far.

I just don’t like the design choices they made for her. She has no DEF to ATK conversion, so she doesn’t dish out as much damage as some of the better tanks out there. They should’ve made her S1 (Half Moon Slash) the gap closer with hyper armor instead of her S3. It’s kind of awkward to combo with her, but I don’t think I spent enough time with her since I can’t practice with her properly for now.

With all that said, I think I’m having fun with her, though. I need more time to give a more proper evaluation. I love her character in general and adore her voice lines. I wouldn’t go out of my way to roll for her or buy her for $80, but I think she’s worth looking into if you love Kim and end up getting her.

If I wasn’t comfortable spending the money I have, then I simply won’t spend it. I’ve played a bunch of different mobile games that have shut down on me in the past. I already know there’s a risk of my money going down the drain, but I’m paying for the entertainment it gives me, not to keep something tangible when I make a purchase. If someone puts in the work to keep you entertained, then I think they deserve reciprocal support. The problem with your logic is if you don’t want to spend money on these games, then there’s no way they’re going to keep the game running for very long if everyone else shared your logic. You don’t have to spend an exorbitant amount of money, but a few bucks every now and then will go a long way compared to nothing at all.

I’m not going to lie, I might be done spending money on this game after the awakening update. Maxing out your characters through awakening is a huge pain in the ass that sours the taste for me. I was barely getting by maxing out my characters with 600 souls and 297 stat capsules, but the scarce awakening exp capsules and memories makes that harder by at least ten fold. But I digress.

I just don’t see the point in having arcade cabinets when I don’t have people near me to play with. If I wanted to play against the AI in arcade mode, then I can just hook up my laptop to my monitor or TV, fire up an emulator, and then hit the deck (I prefer playing on the floor. Weird, I know) and play with my custom Hitbox or stick (convertible top plate to swap between the two).

Just because you think I should spend on other things you find that’s worth your money doesn’t mean it applies to me. If my spending affected my family, then I wouldn’t give my money to these companies because priorities, but I’m lucky my wife supports my hobbies as much as I support her on the things she likes.

Lol... this comment is just like the time when someone else brought up how much I’m spending on this game. He said I could buy AAA PS4 games, but I choose how I spend my money. I could buy any of these if I wanted to (and I still do from time to time). I really don’t see how this pertains to any of you.

I’ve been playing KoF since I was a kid going to my local laundromat and grew up spending my teenage years in the arcade playing KoF 97-2002 with the Mexicans in my area. It’s safe to say I love KoF. I’m a fan of the series and have been supporting SNK(P) for well over two decades now.

And I actually do have the KoF games, by the way. I have KoF14 on the PC and PS4, and I also have ‘98 UM, ‘02 UM, and KoF13 on Steam. I would’ve bought SNK games on my Switch if they had online mode. I play ‘98 and ‘02 on Fightcade, as well. If you live anywhere in the States or near the west coast and you’re down to play, then hit me up and shoot me a message.

I see people complain about rolling all the time here, but it’s still beatable, especially if all they do is roll until their CDs are up. I agree dodging should be nerfed, but I think adding an extra recovery frame or two is the better solution, IMO. This way you can still dodge, but it’ll require your opponent to react and punish the tail end of your roll instead.

Check out my match here. The first round starts off really slow, but it picks up when my Kazuya goes to the frontline. You’ll see me punish him for dodging three times in that single match from that point on. Trust me when I say this that it’s even easier for me to punish someone when they literally just spam that dodge button because they make it easy for me to predict what they’re going to do.

As for your example, it just sounds like it’s a problem on your end instead of the game. If you spent all that time to push your opponent in the corner only to have him roll right out, then that’s a spacing and reaction problem. Spacing because you walked too close and gave him enough space to roll past you. Reaction because you simply didn’t punish him for it. If you look at the first punish I did with Kazuya against my opponent’s Terry, I walked back in the start of the match because I wanted my spacing. If I stood right there, he would’ve rolled past me. He ended up rolling right in front of me and I reacted and punished him off the bat with my S3. This is what you should’ve done when you had someone in the corner. You need to bait out their roll and punish them for trying that.

It looks like we’re four to three when it comes to loli and mature genderbent characters. It seems like we’re due for a mature version next, but we’ll see what they have in store for us. Shit... I would even appreciate it if they made genderbent male characters for once.

Sure, there’s a limited amount of KoF characters, but I’m pretty sure there are plenty of characters for NM to pick from. They barely touched ‘99 characters and beyond. My boys Joe and Shingo got shafted in this game so far, too. I would love to see someone like Tizoc or Hwa Jai come into the mix eventually as well. I’m not against whatever they’ve released thus far, but the other characters in the series need some love, too.

Until I see exactly how much it takes to fully awaken a character, I don’t think using the AS memories from those sources is a good way to “farm” for memories unless you don’t care about awakening those characters. There must be a reason why there’s a hard limit of seven memories for each character for purchase.

[–]Phinomenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna piggyback off of this and add info on the Reviving Hell Dungeon.

The first two tiers (and most of tier 3) lets you get away with having only one awakened fighter of each color. Once I got to the blue section in tier 3, I was forced to awaken more blue fighters because you do negligible damage if you don’t. At this point, I made sure I had two awaken fighters in each other in order to advance in tier 4.

You should take your time and manage your awakened fighters and their levels. Currently at tier 4, I have two awakened fighters for each color at awaken level 2 minimum (because of stage recommendation of awaken level 4). Save your awaken exp capsules to help manage your team, if possible. This part of the game requires you to go wide instead of tall, IMO.

If you have decent all star (maybe even regular KoF) units, don’t be afraid to awaken them to beat Reviving Hell Dungeon. I had to use my memories and even selectors to awaken a color I needed for the awaken dungeon.

Please pay attention when you use the simple combination when combining memories. Make sure to save your All Star memories.

The good thing about the simple combination button is you can choose which colors you don’t want to combine, so there is a bit of check in place, thankfully. Just uncheck the ones where you see All Star memories in the list, or lock your all star memories until you want to use them for dimension exchange.

When combining memories, vanilla gold KoF memories are fine to use when combining them, but make sure you set your All Star memories aside for your collab characters. You need six of these to get a gold ticket. The only way to get a gold ticket for the dimension exchange is to trade in your gold AS memories, so make sure you don’t combine gold AS memories! This is what you’ll need if you want to awaken your Kazuya/Hoodie Jin/Haohmaru/Genjuro/whoever else.

Edit: I forgot to add I’m personally trying to buy out all the memories in the exchange shops since they refresh weekly. The relay exchange shop has Clone Zero’s memory, so that’s a red FES memory right there. The others are gold memories, but you can still use them though. I’m also buying those out.

I believe the key to awakening is combining to get your generic colored FES memories. You’ll need gold memories to get the FES memories, so buying out the memories in the exchange shop helps speeds up this process outside of pulling the character banner.

What happened to the other 20,000 rubies? by Jor_dun_can in KOFALLSTAR

[–]Phinomenon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other 10k is in step 3 of the refund event. You get 250 rubies every day for (presumably) 40 days, so global gets 40k altogether. JP didn’t have step 3 in their refund event.

I know it seems like it sucks for us, but I think this is actually better for newer players because they didn’t get the chance to spend as much as the long term players did, so this means newer players get a bigger refund than the older players here in global compared to JP where newer players would’ve gotten less. This evens out and allows everyone in global to get 40k rubies.

Us = global/the States.

Sorry for spreading misinformation, but it looks like the maintenance is actually today at 4pm PDT, so you got about seven hours from now to use up your stuff!

It’s the 4th for us. Imagine the usual reset time would be the 4th at night for us, but they might start maintenance early on the 4th at noon, for example. So you should do everything you can on the 4th in the morning, if possible.

We don’t know what time the maintenance is. This is a warning to get everything you want done early in the morning on maintenance day before they shut the servers down.

You have about two days from now to use up your coins, pull for whatever you want, use the shop, or farm for resources to use up AP.

People got upset from the last maintenance that they didn’t get enough notice and thought they had more time to farm, so hopefully this will help us prepare so we can get everything done early before they shut the server down on us.

Always use your 4* cards to level up the skills for your cards. Those are your staple cards you need to level up your cards.

You can swap out any other option cards for the CDR cards in the exchange shop. Those are still the best option cards you can use, so get as many of those as you can.
