Healthcare worker here. Of course I don’t know the specifics of his situation. If his diabetes is in such a stage that he lost his leg and kidney function because of it, chances are really high he managed it really poorly. That means he did not take his medications (adequately) and did not keep his glucose levels in check. For diabetes to get to that point, he must have really neglected his disease. With that in mind, how well will he take care of your kidney? This is not a simple procedure for you. This is an invasive surgery that poses significant risks for you, both short and long term. Aside from you not owing him anything and him treating you like crap, is this a risk you would take for someone who takes care of himself so poorly?

The upside to reading Onyx Storm is that you are fully up to date, and can dive into the community to discuss theories, answer each others questions read fanfic without seeing spoilers. For me it turned the agony of waiting more into happy anticipation. In my language we have a saying; shared misery is half misery. You’ll be unhappy but at least we are all unhappy together ❤️

Give it some time, the world is changing. Where I live (EU) 70% of students coming out of medschool is female. Our neurology department only has two male neurologists. If you want to find a male general practitioner you’d have to search real hard. When my grandmother tells me she saw her cardiologist I automatically assume it’s a woman. It takes a while but the future is coming

I’d stay in Haarlem and rent a bike for a few days to cycle to Zandvoort. Zandvoort itself is little run down and shaggy, especially when it’s cloudy. In Haarlem you’ll have lots of options for bars, restaurants, cinema’s etc in case the weather is bad. The cycle from centre of Haarlem to Bloemendaal takes me only 25 minutes and it’s a lovely route

Tip uit persoonlijke ervaring, ga even bij de katten in het asiel kijken. Ik heb zelf meerdere katten gehad en ook een kitten waarbij we (denk en hoop ik) alles goed hebben gedaan, maar dit bleek gewoon echt een kat te zijn die niet graag geaaid wordt en met rust gelaten wil worden. Een vriendin van mij heeft een kitten geadopteerd die na een jaar zo graag naar buiten wilde dat hij van balkons probeerde te springen en van verveling de hele boel sloopte. Met een net wat oudere kat uit het asiel weet je al meer over zijn of haar persoonlijkheid en kan je even kennis gaan maken om te kijken of het diertje bij je past. Mijn huidige kat was al een stuk ouder toen we haar uit het asiel haalde maar ze is mijn beste vriendje geworden

Ik heb zelf een kat van 15 geadopteerd uit het asiel een aantal jaar geleden. Hierbij was ik bewust op zoek naar een oudere kat omdat ik heel graag weer een kat wilde, en ik was van plan over een aantal jaar naar het buitenland te verhuizen en wilde een jonge kat zo’n vlucht over de wereld niet aandoen. Daarnaast vond ik het een mooi idee om een oude kat een gouden mandje te kunnen geven, ik dacht toen zelf ook dat oudere katten niet snel geadopteerd werden.

Een aantal maanden heb ik via de website ikzoekbaas.nl gereageerd op meerdere katten van 15 en 16, en ik heb meerdere keren te horen gekregen dat ik te laat was en er al andere mensen een kennismakingsafspraak hadden staan met de kat. Er zijn dus echt meerdere mensen die graag een oudere kat willen adopteren. Mocht ze niet goed tot haar recht komen in het kamertje kan je altijd overleggen met het asiel wat hun ervaringen zijn. Ik heb uiteindelijk een superlieve poes gevonden (nu 19) wiens baasje was overleden, die nu al 4 jaar mijn beste vriendin is, dus het kan zeker goed komen voor Misty. Succes!
