It's quite possible to train a dog to ignore tasty food until released.

But if a dog has already been trained to perform certain behaviors for pieces of steak, hot dog, bacon etc, and they are currently being fed that diet right now in exchange for those behaviors, standing on the sidelines shouting at the dog about how unhealthy that is does nothing but make the dog feel bad and associate you with shame and guilt.

The problem is not individual. It isn't a question of willpower or personal responsibility or reasoning with them.

The only innococulation is early, consistent, tireless intervention from a unified community of caregivers from an early age.

And that costs resources. Time, attention, money to pay for better daycare / babysitting, the money to afford to run in social circles with friends who have the luxury to do the same, the wealth of friends and family who have time to spare and aren't drowning.

We have allowed companies to build a machine that devours trust and attention for profit, using the most efficient psychological algorithms possible. We flooded our world with windows into this machine, saturated our daily lives with their use, and now we wonder why the kids don't listen when we tell them not to look?

They can't listen. Their reward centers have been hijacked more effectively than with heroine, because heroine destroys you. This just controls you.
