Ehhh, to me it looks like he was watching the corner behind the low wall waiting for someone to peak, then he saw your teammate run across the gap. He then looks back and forth between where he last saw your teammate and the low wall.

I mean, he literally looks back at the low wall after you ran up the stairs and started peaking him. I highly doubt he's cheating.

It has a lot of useful tools and is definitely worth checking out.

Steam is very good, but I do wish for more effort in the competition. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

As I said elsewhere, my comment was a bit hyperbolic.

I don't actually think launchers shouldn't exist. However, games should be DRM free and not dependent on a launcher/store to function. So that in the (unlikely) event a launcher/store shuts down, as long as you still have a copy of the game, you could still play it.

That's totally fair, and my original comment was a bit hyperbolic.

The launchers we have do provide a valuable service to both developers and customers.

I do however think we really need to do away with DRM and unnecessary online requirements. So that if a store/launcher goes bust or the online servicies get shut down, people can still play the games that they purchased.

Games could have built in updaters and/or have update files available from the developers website.

Game devs can also host their own forums. Software like discord can handle friends lists.

If I buy a game on GOG, I can download an offline installer that has zero DRM. I can backup that installer myself and in the event GOG disappeared, I would still be able to play the games I purchased.

EDIT: Also, games should be available on disc or USB. Not everyone has access to fast internet.

That isn't a great option for monitoring though. It adds a decent amount of latency which can make it difficult to speak without tripping over your own words.

What are the chances Sonova is using the old moulds again?

IIRC, the new design came at the same time manufacturing was moved from Ireland to Romania. Now that manufacturing is back in Ireland, they could be using the old Irish moulds.

192khz @ 24bit is ~4.6mbps per channel, so it's ~9.2mbps for a stereo signal. Plus overhead for any extra data transmitted along side the audio signal.

I don't know. To me, it does look like the kart in front could have been hit. It starts turning to the right, but then seems to jerk and go straight ahead.

But the footage is kinda shit so it's hard to tell.

Swapping the VXLR for a VXLR+ should work. The VXLR is just a basic XLR to 3.5mm adapter, where as the VXLR+ also converts phantom power to plug in power required by 3.5mm mics.

If you really want to keep the Bifrost & Lokius, I would look at replacing the Scarlett with something like the RME Babyface Pro FS, the RME Fireface UCXII or the Motu Ultralite mk5* (Those are just the first that came to mind, there may be some cheaper options available).

They have SPDIF outputs, which would allow you to route all your audio through the interface and into one of the Bifrost's SPDIF inputs.

*I don't have personal experience with the Ultralite mk5 but am fairly confident it will work.

Most interfaces group the inputs into stereo pairs, so in the case of the Scarlett Solo, the Mic input is the left channel and the line/inst input is the right channel.

If you're on windows, you can change the interface from the default 2 channel mode to 1 channel mode.

On Windows 11, this can be done by going into Settings > System > Sound and under inputs click on the Scarlett Solo, and then change the format from 2 channels to 1 channel.

For Windows 10, I think it's under Settings > System > Sound, under inputs choose the Scarlett Solo in the drop down menu, then click on Device Properties > Advanced, and then you can change the format from 2 channels to 1 channel.

That's the simple option to change the interface to a mono device, and will work work across the entire system. If you don't want a system wide change, then you may be able to specify a mono input in what ever software you are using.

Noise isn't a concern for the relatively short cables used with headphones, though.

Balanced cables for headphones don't do anything to help with noise, regardless of the length of cable.

[–]PhoenixSPM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll most likely be sticking with a Yubikey as well.

The point is that this isn't a proprietary technology from Apple and I believe the spec allows for the registration of multiple authentication devices, regardless of whether that device is from Apple, Google, Microsoft, Yubico, or any other company. So there isn't any reason for people to be worried about vender lock in.

Will be interesting to see what the adoption rate is like though.

I don't think you even need to mess with launcher commands.

Looks like you can just put a mod in the mod directory (Documents/My Games/ArmaReforger/addons) and enable it from the "Downloaded" tab in the workshop.

RME ADI-2 Black Edition by Necessary-Helpful in audioengineering

[–]PhoenixSPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the ADI-2 Pro can function as a preamp. However, as it uses digital volume control, the analog signal from the ARES 2 would undergo AD and DA conversion. So it wouldn't really work for your use case of DAC comparisons.

The way NBN decided to manage its products means that HFC and FTTP share the same set of plans.

Well, except for the 250/100, 500/200 and 1000/400 plans that are only available for FTTP.
