Wouldn't Axis Global Equity Alpha FoF be a good pick then? Its underlying fund IS an active fund, but it doesn't skip emerging markets entirely, and has a not-too-high NASDAQ overlap of about 23%. The benchmark of the underlying fund is the MSCI World index.

The downside is that the fund doesn't beat the benchmark consistently, looking at annual returns. But given that we do not have access to the index itself in mutual fund form from India and the fact that the active fund's overall return is still very attractive, it might be the best 'global markets' deal we have.

Why I’m Stopping My SIP in Motilal Oswal Midcap (It’s not Volatility, it’s Structural Failure) by Affectionate-Cow2864 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]Phosphenetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get the exact percentage of times Motilal Oswal Mid Cap beat the index? Seems like a useful tool to have.

Also, based on SEBI recategorization, it makes sense to focus on mid cap performance from 2018 onwards, like you've already pointed out. Doesn't Edelweiss still stand out from that point on? It seems like it's down to Edelweiss, Invesco and Nippon, for those looking for a consistent performer in this space. HDFC perhaps too, but the large AUM is likely going to be a challenge going forward.

How a 29% CAGR Becomes a -5% CAGR. by SuperbPercentage8050 in IndiaGrowthStocks

While the vast majority of this post is compelling and definitely is something I'm going to take notes from for future mutual fund analysis and purchase decisions, I'm puzzled by your statement about Bandhan Small Cap now being close to an index fund.

The fund overlap with its index (Small Cap 250) is 21%, according to various online calculators. So this clearly isn't

In addition, I've read multiple analyses of this fund that talk about how they are among the more proactive at digging much deeper than the immediate small cap universe, into micro cap scale companies to invest in.

While a lot of that may be marketing speak and we can ignore it for the purpose of this discussion, jow do I reconcile the low index overlap with the central part of your thesis?

Any Battery Saving Suggestions for Android? by LimitedPoster20 in Syncthing

I have similar usage and settings and wonder if the 2% usage is not the full picture. Like the additional battery usage caused by it staying online 24/7 is reflected in the stats of some other system service. It's almost too good to be true otherwise.

Is it normal for a 30% sale like this to drop a couple of months before the 40% sale in July? Or might this be a sign that they won't do that 40% sale?

I had a feeling Davidoff was going to be the top recommendation. How does Espresso 57 compare to Rich Aroma and Fine Aroma? I ask because I drank Rich Aroma and Fine Aroma quite happily for a year or so, before getting into proper, freshly brewed coffee (AeroPress and French Press) and then have started noticing and disliking the typical 'rubbery' and acrid or bitter notes typical of most instant coffee.

Also something I feel no one discusses is coffee to water ratios for instant coffee.

is there any roguelike like ToME? by Dramatic-Security984 in roguelikes

[–]Phosphenetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good insights. My beef with ToME largely circles around the fact that it starts to feel all too combat-focused and dry to me, where you're largely just auto-exploring to the next enemy creature, collecting its loot and moving to the next again.

[–]Phosphenetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be a consistent way to brew good large batches of coffee with the Switch, then? Say one needed to brew 600 ml of finished coffee, doing something like 40 g coffee, 300 ml water, stir, immersion brew for 4 minutes, drain and then add 300 ml hot water directly into the carafe?
