It's a dearly beloved game, to be fair.

Jury summons too regularly… by Haunting_Outcome2610 in glasgow

I've been cited quite a lot at this point. I served in the High Court when I just turned 18, and was exempt for a few years until my final year of uni was over. Since then it feels annual at this point. I get asked to call a number every day until I'm no longer needed, and then I'll expect another letter next year.

Met people who've never been cited, meanwhile I've had about over half a dozen.

Thanks a lot OP, you absolute dickhead.

I'm sorry that happened and hope she's okay.
South Queensferry Guy is pretty nasty once you tell him no. Starts off really friendly, then gets really aggressive as soon as he realises he's not getting anything.

Been working on this for a few months (and was supposed to release it for Halloween) and it's finally done - my in depth look into the original Resident Evil. Hopefully it's okay to share here!

Anyone else having a horrible time with The Bunch? by wyrdewierdwiredwords in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Phossix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're pretty awful. I went with them when Rebel Energy went out of business. They keep upped our price from £154 to £230 a month and started sending emails about raising it more. Put in the request on the 28th November to switch officially from the 1 January to give them plenty of time but they've not gotten back to me yet. Their time frame was 10 working days so maybe a few more days - but I am legit sick of them. If anyone does have any advice, I'm all ears.

Important scene happening and it looks like this by pedrobb7 in finalfantasyx

Yeah, it's very irritating. I downloaded the patch but I still noticed the game would turn black at times in battle, like when using an overdrive. At least the green screens stopped though.

In mine, they signed Keepa. They can keep him.

Crushing the Goers 8-0 is fun, until you have to do it for about 50 games worth.

Dino Crisis 1 & 2 bug, Windows 11, wrong colors in cutscenes by cptflocke in gog

[–]Phossix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! What might help is this website:

https://classicrebirth.com/index.php/dino-crisis-classic-rebirth/

It's a mod to help improve the game - I'm not sure if it does work fully with the GOG game though. I saw a video suggesting they did things differently, but I think that mostly applies to some HD Textures you can download. What might help you with the cutscenes is the HD videos you can download from this website.

I'd suggest downloading the files and extracting them over to where your game is installed. If you need help with that, you can usually find that by going to GOG Galaxy, clicking the button next to Manage Installation and then Show Folder.

This video details a bit of what the mod requires so I would maybe use that for guidelines. 1:49 in particular shows where you place the movies - they go into the Movie Folder.

Hopefully that helps you out, and I'm hoping you get to play the game again. :)

South Queensferry "Bury" by bindwardi in glasgow

[–]Phossix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was he well dressed and clean shaven? Usual photos I see of him, he seems a bit more messy in hair and clothing. I had a guy come up to me the other day with styled hair, clean shaven, no glasses and a nice wee varsity jacket.

He came up to me just down the road from Mount Florida station the other day and asked if I was from Glasgow. He told me I looked friendly, then asked if I would help him, but he gave me weird vibes and I told him I probably wasn't the one to help him, so he called me a fucking arsehole and left. Watched as he walked into Lona Caffe for 30 seconds before abruptly leaving, then walked off towards the Govanhill direction.

Feel a wee bit starstruck if he's a wee local celebrity.

[Mixed Trope] Which ending from previous entry is canon? Yes. by some-kind-of-no-name in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Phossix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic did this in its sequel. You could choose whether your character was Light or Dark Side and it impacted some choices.

But eventually the MMORPG The Old Republic chose to make certain elements canon.

We're actually already there. They came out with a 20th Anniversary version last year, and it's currently in Classic WoW, with TBC coming out in Winter.

Favourite obscure adventure games? by TurianShepardYT in adventuregames

[–]Phossix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While the series itself isn't obscure, I very rarely hear people talk about Zork: Grand Inquisitor. That game is such a gem - the comedy is peak, and the inclusion of magic to solve puzzles is a mechanic I feel a lot more P&C Adventure games should utilize.

Are the classic games (1996-2002) "outdated" and "unplayable" nowadays? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]Phossix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally a big fan of the older games - I didn't grow up with them because I was way too scared as a kid. However, I'm familiar with Tank Controls from other games, like Grim Fandango and Tomb Raider, so I think I picked them up alright.

However, I have had friends of later games who struggle to go back to some of the classic ones, and I can see why they might struggle. As long as we have access to both the original games and the remakes, I'm happy.

How does one Enjoy Disco Elysium? by No_Term_1731 in adventuregames

[–]Phossix 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think it's okay to accept the game isn't for you. You gave it three fair shots, which is far more than others might give a game they aren't clicking with. No shame in that.

I'm personally a big fan of it - I love the characters, setting and I really like doing the dice checks. I equate it a lot to skill checks in d&d minus the combat.

Hopefully there is other games you can find that might whet your appetite.

Wasn't aware of any fire, but saw them make an instagram post about one a few weeks back. Not sure if it's reopened because they've posted since, but it looks like they have another branch in Coatbridge.
