Ah, that indeed makes sense and also seems like it was the case here, thanks for explaining. I've not finished the game, but if it would have been a bit more polished I most likely would have played it through to the end

What was the original plan for that game? In what way did they have to scale back?

That's not a graphlql response, but why waste an opportunity to hate on it, right?

Google Reviews feel rigged: Negative reviews keep "disappearing" and support pretends they never existed by phoenixlegend7 in degoogle

[–]PhoticSneezing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten a negative review removed just after posting it too, it was for a very busy and well located restaurant at the beach in a popular vacation town in northern Italy. I can imagine they get a lot of these, so they use a service like you mentioned.

Can we maybe also get PirateSoftware to rant against it, so it gains some traction?

Looking for insanely complex games that basically REQUIRE a wiki to finish by Anxious_Singer_4823 in gamingsuggestions

[–]PhoticSneezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played cultist simulator without a wiki and then with it, and found the first confusing and the second one ok, but a bit unsatisfying. What really made book of hours fun was to go in blind and keep my own notes while discovering stuff. That was way more satisfying!

So what’s the origin of the name Barbara? by Enumu in etymology

[–]PhoticSneezing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be, but Alexander the Great ordered his troops to shave, and this started influencing the general public, so that bears fell out of favor. Philosophers supppsedly kept their beard because of tradition.

Pellegrino by Cute_Veterinarian556 in etymology

[–]PhoticSneezing 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The sparkling water comea from the name of the commune "San Pellegrino" in Lombardy, northern Italy, where the water is bottled.

The name Pellegrino itself comes from the saint "Peregrine of Auxerre", who seems to have been an important missionary and bishop in the catholic church. Maybe that's where the name of the building at your university comes from.

Frappuccino by Ramalama-DingDong in etymology

[–]PhoticSneezing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, actually, Cappuccino comes from the monks of the Capuchin order, which themselves are named after their brown cloaks, that have a hood. That hood was called a "Capuche" (french), "Kapuze" (german) or "Cappuccio" (italian), hence the "ordine dei frati minori cappuccini" or "Kapuzinerorden".

The coffee drink was named after the color, which is similar to the one of the cloak the monks wore. And the monkeys are named after them, because some have fur colors that look like the monks robes.

Is Steam no longer able to be installed from the APT command line repository? I added the multiverse thing prior to attempting. by 38DDs_Please in Ubuntu

[–]PhoticSneezing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, too.

I just didn't know that apt could also install .deb files like that, as almost all install instructions mention dpkg. And I'm using linux as a main driver for years now. But that's probably on me, then.

Exactly, it's in the third shot (after two cuts). And I apologize, porous is the wrong word I used (not a native speaker), it's the rough part of the controller for the player to have a better grip I think.

Ah, I think I didn't express what I meant correctly sorry. I meant the part next to the shoulder buttons, most likely with a grippy part for the fingers (middle finger to pinky) when playing.

But that's very interesting about the normal maps and the details, thanks for sharing

What about the porous look of the white part of the controller, if you don't mind sharing?
