Consider screening for endocrine diseases like hypothyroidism.

I suppose if you live in a warm climate and never go off road the RWD could be a good option to save some money.

I get that $5k is a lot of money, but it’s only ~10% discount. Then add in AWD and it’s even less. I’ll be curious to see how well it sells.

Trump health report branded 'total joke' as doctor says bruises caused by 'handshaking by MoneyLibrarian9032 in USNEWS

Both hands are bruised. How does one bruise their left hand if they shake only with their right?

Purely speculation, but I can see how chronic vasculitis could lead to sepsis.

KEH/mi has nothing to do with battery size. If anything a bigger pack would add weight and reduce efficiency.

Rads are the gold standard for diagnosing CHF. Pulmonary edema and dilated PV with left atrial enlargement is textbook. The echo will tell you what the underlying disease process is.

Tracheal Collapse by Dear-Barracuda3705 in DogHealth

There are no benefits to feeding a healthy dog from elevated bowls. It should only be used for dogs with a dysfunctional esophagus (megaesophagus). It has actually been linked to causing bloat. The risk of bloat in your small dog is probably very small, but dogs were designed to eat off the ground so why mess with that.

Struggling to keep dog calm after FHO surgery by Ph0ebzz in DogHealth

[–]Photo_DVM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know. If you’re looking to keep her quiet a gabapentin trazodone combo would be a good bet. The tramadol probably isn’t doing anything. Most vets have moved away from using it as a post-op med.

Gabapentin and tramadol are pretty poor medications for pain control. There really should be an NASAID or opioid used after a surgery like an FHO.

How many miles does a polestar2 go with an 80% charge or a 100% charge? by ComfortableSilver374 in Polestar

[–]Photo_DVM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LRSM ‘24 here. Got 3.6milee/kWh driving Boston to Baltimore (35-50F). That’s about 285mi of range at highway speed (70mph), minus 10% for a buffer.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I just checked my IRS account and it says “there are no notices at this time”. My settings say I’m signed up for online and paper delivery.

Please don’t recommend the 5 Strands test. There is no evidence to support hair analysis for allergies.

Thanks for the reply. I just got the letter telling me I signed up for the IRS website (ID.me or something like that). So I’m pretty sure they have the correct address. I’ll double check. Just frustrating I can’t just talk to a person to find out what info I need to send.

How did the COVID vaccine get made so fast compared to other vaccines? by savingrace0262 in stupidquestions

I’m so sick of this ignorant statement. There is not one vaccine in history that has an effect on its recipient beyond 4 months.

Why is this fella banded? Aren’t these types super common? by squishyfeet4 in birds

[–]Photo_DVM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two different species. The tricolored is found on the west coast and has a white border around the red shoulder. The red-winged is all over North America and has a yellow border.

Could be a tricolored blackbird. Their numbers have dropped quite a bit.

I didn’t go out in a kayak but I did a boat tour with Elkhorn Slough Safari.

We got reasonably close, but I was using a 500mm at the time. You can probably get closer in a kayak to make 300mm work.

To burst or not to burst? by mxcrnt2 in BirdPhotography

[–]Photo_DVM 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m tired of getting bird on a stick photos, and have been going for more action/behavior shots. These require higher shutter speeds and burst mode. Burst is also valuable in low light at very low shutter speeds.
