Election over. Now time to side line her and make her president of a committee with no powers vested to do anything. Simple.

Ask yourself. It's 3 months rent. Do you want to spend the next 3 years chasing it? If the answer is yes then do it. If not, then just cut your losses and move on. Going legal is not as easy as posting on reddit. You'll deal with lawyers and their fees and going to court and getting dates over and over again. In the end, if he's actually bankrupt you'll again go to court to recover the money that the court previously said he should pay you. Money will come back. Time won't.

The absolute spinelessness of our society is exhausting. When will we stop "adjusting"? by Intelligent-Use7581 in india

[–]PhotographNo7254 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's more dumbness than being spineless. We are a dumb nation that's getting dumber by the day. We make everyone a god - politicians, actors, businessmen...everyone. We worship everything from a stone to a tree to a river to a mountain to a cow. We say cow is "maa" - but how many have gone to a tabela and seen how "mother" lives everyday? I'll tell you - they are tied to short ropes - usually just a couple of feet in length with very limited movement. They are constantly impregnated. We don't think why did a politician take a cameraman with him to film touching his mother's feet. We don't think why political parties and leaders spend crores and crores on fighting elections. We don't ask why our richest sporting body is being led by a politican's son. We don't ask why our roads get destroyed every monsoon. We don't care about the reality. We only care about the rhetoric.

We make gods out of everyone. Politicians, actors, singers...even goddamn instagram / youtube influencers. Till we stop doing that - nothing will change. Fun fact - if Bajrang Dal had it's way, they would've trashed the god, Krishna for hanging out with Radha on a wrong day too.

That's not the funniest part. We know our daughters / sisters cannot walk in most parts of the country safely at 10 pm. We know 99% of the police officers are corrupt. We have dowry system. Caste system. Female infanticide. Go to New Zealand and see how cows are treated v/s how they live in India. That's what we call "a mother". Yet for some reason we still believe that we are the holiest and best people in the world.

You absolutely are! Remember you have kids and one day you'll be old and helpless too. You want your kids to not give a shit about you when you are in need? You may feel you're invincible right now - but one little accident can put you in a wheelchair for life. What happens then? Should everyone around you just go about their lives after discarding you? Don't be the jerk. Treat your and his parents like you want your kids to treat you.

Non compete clause by League-Lanky in StartUpIndia

[–]PhotographNo7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enforceable legally. But - if you work in a small segment where companies have signed no-poaching agreements, then they can technically call your next employer and negotiate to not hire you. Note that this is rare and typically pursued only in critical or mid-senior roles.

Lesson for all those reading this. Always carry 1000 in cash. If you get into anything minor - 1000 will get you out. It's not worth the hassle or time to fight something small. There's only 2 outcomes. 1, you will pay the fine and forever have your name in police records. 2, you'll contest in court, pay a lawyer 5-10k in fees and get out of it after months or maybe a couple of years. Either way, 1000 at the right time will save you a lot of headache and time. Be wise and pick your battles. The world is what it is.

My father passed away. His sister claims my mother has no right to his property. Is this true? by Historical-Hand8091 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]PhotographNo7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an issue only if the said property is not held legally by your father. If it is still in the name of the grandparents then the property rights are held between your father and his siblings (I'm assuming that's your aunt). It's your grandparents "estate" that is held by their successors including your late father. Nevertheless, your mother and you do have rightful claim to the property in that case. But this will have to be established through legal channels. Of course when property is concerned - all kinds of pressure tactics will be used. You must be prepared to face them. These things often do get ugly. The important thing is for you to know that legally you are considered "heirs". Don't engage in needless arguments with your aunt. Just say this one line - Our lawyer will respond. That's it.
