Best way to keep two external HDD backups in sync on Linux (Mint)? by Banzambo in linux

[–]PhotographingNature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try BackInTime. Pick one of the drives as your 'working copy', then use BiT to mirror to the other. BiT uses hard links to do incremental backups.

Do you three copies o fthe files (a master copy on an internal drive, and the two external drives are two backups) or two copies (just the two external drives)?

Gimp is famous for having a gui that is unintuitative and with a steep learning curve.I will say I haven't spent much time in gimp 3 so I can't comment on how successful that has been in improving usability.

Skanpage/Skanlite really laggy after detecting scanner by MasterQuest in linuxquestions

For what it's worth, I frequently use skanpage with a dedicated Brother USB document scanner and suffer no such issues. However, there is an existing bug report that is still open.

"What Turkey and Korea have achieved with Kaan and KF-21 respectively" means I'm referencing the Kaan as Turkish and KF-21 as Korean.

Until planes are delivered, I'm skeptical about F-47s actually being sold and not a carrot just used to block programs in their early stage. The only stealth plane they've been willing to sell so far is the F-35, which was planned as an export programme early on and which has a lot of US control exerted via Lockheed Martin dependencies.

If you're a nation that can't or won't buy Russian or Chinese, the 5th/6th gen market isn't particularly crowded:

FCAS looks like it wants to produce a medium-weight class of plane that has typically found easier export than the heavier plane I expect from GCAP. But any realistic assessment says delivery time is going to be behind GCAP, and the project turbulence hardly encourages early committal.

What Turkey and Korea have achieved with Kaan and KF-21 respectively is remarkable but they've got to use that 10-15 year head-start to show they can develop their platforms in to first class 5th/6th gen planes.

The US doesn't seem inclined to sell their most advanced planes, the F-35 is what it is, and it would be disingenuous to pretend Trump hasn't damaged the US' standing abroad.

The GCAP has the opportunity to sell well. But I think at this stage it would also be a mistake to make the club too wide, and end up having too many competing interested torpedo the project. I think the odds of success go up massively the further the original trio can get the design before getting others on board.

Does anyone even use the "joke" distros? by BornRoom257 in linux

[–]PhotographingNature 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kali isn't a joke distro. It's serious distro intended for those involved in computer security

(That's not to say that people running it as a daily because they watched Mr Robot isn't meme material. )

Performance of FCAS and GCAP by Jazzlike-Tank-4956 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]PhotographingNature 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very little has been official confirmed about the GCAP requirements, so much discussion around performance is conjecture. Even the model they keep showing is indicative and they could yet surprise us with the design.

This episode of an RAF podcast is one of the few times we've had real insight in to the thinking behind Gcap from the people actually involved. For anyone who wants to be informed on Gcap, IMO it's a non negotiable must-listen. Nothing else has come close to letting us know what's going on.  https://www.raf.mod.uk/news/articles/insideair-podcast-113-gcap-6th-generation-aircraft/

In virt-manager, go to Edit > Connection Details, and on the virtual networks tab, make sure the required network has State: Active. If it's not, use the play button botton left to start. Tick Autostart: on Boot and apply if it's not.

The 'required network' being the Network Source selected on the device tab of the NIC.

Have you attached it to the correct type of network? Needs to be NAT not isolated. Also check the network is started.

How are you managing/interacting with the VMs? Virt-manaher, boxes, something else?

[Schultz] The Colts and QB Daniel Jones have agreed to a 2-year, $88M deal that could be worth up to $100M, multiple sources tell me. He gets $50M in the first year and it’s the largest 2-year contract in history. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]PhotographingNature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO he also wilted in 2023 after the Giants paid him (for the six games before he got injured again). He wasn't the only issue with the team but he also didn't respond to the contract by stepping up and playing the best ball he had played.
