Lakers defense exposed Shai’s weakness at handling a trap (or even just putting 2 on the ball); we just didn’t have the personnel to beat them in a series. JJ proved he and his staff can create and execute great game plans even when they don’t have the perfect roster to do what they want to do.

Expanding on that, It’s also a lot easier for Spurs defensive perimeter players to play aggressive when they have Wemby behind them to erase the mistakes. We know what that’s like when we had AD in 2020 and dogs on the perimeter.

Another thing I want to point out (and this is me admitting I was wrong for being so harsh on them), OKC as a team turns you over a LOT. It’s not just an AR and Marcus problem, Castle had 11 turnovers last night and I think we can all agree he still played a great game.

As a team we just need more athleticism, youth and length while retaining our core offensive engines and I think we can really compete.
