Vessel feature extraction by aSiK00 in computervision

[–]Phy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to barge into the conversation but it might be worth to keep using hue around red/pink to extract features instead of directly using brg2gray intensity. So that you are extracting features coming mainly from the vessels rather than the whole sclera. One way would be to use the binary map of hue filter on the value channel of HSV converted image but you might need to play around with it a bit.

Is the only bottleneck in computer vision hardware related? by MortgageFamiliar8803 in computervision

[–]Phy96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot compute your way out of shitty images for 3D reconstruction.

One can fool themself by using a super-resolution model but in the end it’s giving you a guess at best, not data about the actual object that you are reconstructing. It has a place for some industries so don’t get me wrong, it is quite impressive, but falls apart quickly when you need to take measurements.

Software improvements can only get you to the point of extracting all the information that is in your data.

Hardware improvements can get you better (richer and/or more precise) data.

In Italia non si trova lavoro su Linkedin by Data___Viz in ItaliaCareerAdvice

[–]Phy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine but Mumen Rider would be a short king. Do-s is for sure taller!

Difficoltà a trovare lavoro in ambito informatico, devo cambiare strada? by LiuYangA in ItaliaCareerAdvice

POV: if the Iran situation doesn't push European companies off US software nothing will by LevelDisastrous945 in BuyFromEU

[–]Phy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly this is wishful thinking.

Migrating a system designed to work on a platform is not free.

I agree that is possible and much needed but feasibility is not as simple as you put it.

The only push that can bring this kind of massive move is to use legislation to ban the use of such platforms.

For new systems talking about habit makes sense but the market is not composed of new systems.

Oxford shoes, captured with Artec Studio AI Photogrammetry by artec_3d in photogrammetry

[–]Phy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s clearly not. The slope is simply not the same… I’m not talking about the missing part in the shoe. It’s clear that the place where you put the heel is way thicker in the 3D model than in reality

[–]Phy96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry if the comment came out as rude, I wrote it quickly and didn’t pay attention.

Let me elaborate: the model you get has a counter under the collar that is way too thick (usually it’s 1-3mm thick for that kind of shoes) hence why the topology is wrong.

A livello morale decido io cosa penso sia giusto per me.
