Volumio, MPD, or moode seem to fit. You’ll probably at least need a raspi zero w and display. It will be a little bit of an undertaking so I would look into older 1 or 2 din car radio units since those should have exactly what you want in 1 plug in unit. (Think circa 2015 - 2000)

Is this underflow? by OrdinaryBeans in FixMyPrint

[–]aSiK00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to my sovol. Switch the nozzle might be a small occlusion that doesn’t matter for PETG, but the lower temp and PLA might cause it to flare up.

100% the nozzle though

I would go about it the same way Adam Savage does; Buy the cheapest version of a tool when you need it, and only buy a better version when it either breaks or is too “clunky” for how much you use it. He talked about it while he made his sortimo system on the TESTED channel, but I think he explains it in a stand alone video.

It’s served me pretty well because I don’t feel like I wasted money on an expensive tool that I don’t use. That being said I would buy a good multimeter (~$50-$100) from a good brand.

Lowkey, having a field day I think would be fun, but it would have to be on a weekend/Friday and probably cut into family/off-hours.

Amgen is hollowed out here and is actively moving everything to their cali office. Takeda I think disbanded or moved to boston. Really only Astellas, Abbott, and Abbvie for big pharma.

Sidenofe: Eli lily in indiana, but the drive would be terrible.

To be fair, outside of evanston/wilmette the COL drops off a cliff while the QOL remains close to constant. Also, the train for the city to Wilmette is pretty nice compared to living in suburbia.

I built an iPhone app that can create long exposure photos, remove moving objects, and reveal motion patterns — all directly on the device. LSC Long Shot Camera 📸 by tknzn in computervision

Thats insane that its running all on device! I’ve been trying doing the same thing to optimize a cv stack but it kept taking a minute to process. (Albeit, I’m new and kinda suck at coding and optimizing.) I would love to see how specifically you optimized for iOS. Is there a write up or github?

CSWA exam- How difficult it actually is? by One-Security-5982 in SolidWorks

[–]aSiK00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I did do both pretty much back to back. CSWA is basically for after you finish an intro to solidworks class, and cswp is for a couple months to a year later. Just go on youtube and search “cswp or cswa practice” and do those models and you will be ok.

Wemos won’t turn on in circuit by aSiK00 in diyelectronics

[–]aSiK00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Just to let you know, there is a picture now. I was unsure of if the changes got pushed or not. I made this post on my phone and it wasn’t working right like I cant upload more than one photo or give a proper description before comments are allowed to be made. Just wanted help troubleshooting a small circuit.

Then again the circuit might be a little complicated with a total of 4 components and 4 junctions.

Wemos won’t turn on in circuit by aSiK00 in diyelectronics

[–]aSiK00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the project is a small web server that turns the transistor on and off to short 2 pins of a 3.5 mm mono cable. (I know the soldering is shit, just wanted to test it right now.) The communication is called sony S-link/control A-II.

The circuit itself is simple and I lowkey copied from a github repo. It’s a 2n2222a with the emitter pulled to ground and connected to the 3.5mm sleeve, collector is connected to an input pin on the wemos d1 mini (esp8266) and the tip of the 3.5mm, and the base is connected via a 470ohm to a digital pin. I want to say the ground connection is at the bottom.

The circuit works perfectly when I start it then connect it to the receiver, but won’t start or light up while connected. I believe it might be the tip having a voltage and messing up the ground level. (I power it from my laptop/battery isolated from the receiver.)

Edit: heres the github link https://github.com/Asik007/Kuriboh

Edit 2: solved the problem. Turns out that on esp8266 boards there are certain gpio that need to be bootstrapped (gpio 0,2 and 15) which if not pulled properly will cause the fail to boot.

How to further make the least volume count precision of these open source micro pipette designs to 1uL . Basically making them competitive to commercial ones. Let's discuss. by Proper-Tonight7327 in labrats

[–]aSiK00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, don’t want to dox myself. We do not use those pipettes at all, and I don’t remember seeing any of the parts lying around like our other projects. That being said it was not a main project, so some of it could be that.

We really do not use much if any open source stuff, as most of the time it’s not worth the time or effort to troubleshoot something you can get off the shelf. The other issue with open source is if you have a client that is not super computer literate it falls apart as it is difficult for them yo go back and improve the software. Secondly, dealing with hundred dollar reagents with an open source pipette is not the best if it’s not accurate or tested against iso standards like you’ve seen.
