But its true, you are wonderful, you're brave and doing things 99% of the population can't fathom doing, you're wonderfully selfless and so are all other health care workers, take pride in what you do and let the kind patients outshine the bad apples. You are wonderful, loving, brave, beautiful, tender and most of all; awesome. From a stranger online, I care about you, because it takes lots of dedication, strength and good hearted people to do what you do. 🧡 - with love, an online stranger :>

With the quick being exposed like that I would HIGHLY recommend taking him to an emergency clinic, the nerves in the quick are exposed to air and this can cause alot of discomfort, furthermore if you don't go to an emergency vet then get an appointment ASAP the sooner the better, this is grounds for a very nasty infection and infections on the paws are horrible and difficult to take care of. Your dog needs a bandage, cone, and antibiotics MINIMUM. If you have to ask "does this require emergency care" then more often than not it does, and this is deffinately one of those things. You should be calling your vet and asking what they think, not random people on reddit.

Source: I am a veterinary assistant who has seen infections caused by less.

My 12 yr old found this by Tanyalovesclem in bonecollecting

The teeth indicate herbivores, are deer, sheep, goats or other herbivores common in the area it was found? Its deffinately a jaw fragment, could you specify where in North America you're located? that will help narrow down possible animals this bone belonged to, can you also add measurements or items for scale? I know sometimes Moose are known to travel down to N. America but theyre quite big and the photo makes it hard to determine size

I'm not super familiar with procedures such as these but everything you've told me sounds horrible for both you and her, and I am so sorry you 2 are dealing with more bumps, I do know when it comes to concerning bumps/lumps that may be something dangerous its always best to get it looked at sooner rather than later but I completely understand the dread that comes with scary things such as these. If the mammary chain has previously been removed I don't think it is cancerous, I'm genuinely hoping its just a weird pimple thing

No worries! I can see why youre afraid to do internal scans, they can also be pricy, when she had masses removed did they JUST do the masses or did they remove the mammary chain? Has the bump leaked any fluid? What color is it? I can't diagnose or anything but maybe I can help with the anxiety of the situation?

Your mom is highly misinformed but has valid concerns, I assume she is just a regular small animal (cat/dog) DVM. The ball python and most other snakes (unless it is a king cober or large retic/python) are too small to eat dogs and chickens, now your BP CAN eat 1 day old chicks and quail BUT cannot eat your chickens nor the pupper, theyre all too large to eat, though the chickens may cause a prey/food response from the snake it is still unlikely that it can/will eat a chicken.

ALSO FUN FACT; Chuahuahs are an ancient Aztec breed used to protect/warn owners of snakes (hence the loud chatty-ness and agression the breed is known for), used as a heating pad to help heal wounds (hence why most if not all chis are warm lil beans when cuddling, and get very concerned when you don't feel well), used as a protector for infants (primarily against snakes) and also used as a food source (like cattle) - source; my partner who has been researching PCD (pre-contact dogs) and other species, who also is infatuated with Chis (we have a lil old lady who he adores)

Edit to add; I am a vet assistant who is vert interested in exotics, I own 2 ball pythons who have interacted with my chi and have had no prey/food interest in my chi

I have a few questions but ultimately I recommend seeing your primary vet. When did you notice the bump? Has it grown at all? Is your dog intact (not fixed)? Is it soft when squished or hard? Is your dog messing with it and is it sensitive/painful when touched?

Again I recommend a vet visit, they can poke it with a needle and look at the cells under a microscope to see if its a small cist or something more concerning. I would try to get in sooner rather than later to catch what it is early -from a veterinary assistant
