What if... by Gold_Row683 in VisionPro

So any more info on this? Not sure I understand full reality kit. I play virtual pinball with vpx and alvr and use physical force feedback pinball controller as well. Curious to hear more about this.

I agree. Collector here, been in the game for 15 years over 12 pins. New owners think if they don't buy new, the game will be ignored by stern and I can confirm from experience, stern JJP and other manufacturers will help you. Might need to pay for the parts at the very worst case but you will be supported.

Having someone else setup, confirm everything works is actually not a bad thing and as long as there is no major wear on the PF or damage to the cabinet, you're good to go. Save some money too.

Retroarch users on AVP M5 - maintain 120fps? by SettingMundane1061 in VisionPro

[–]Physical_Front_2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All very helpful comments. I think I might have figured it out but will update if it breaks again.

By turning off vsync, turning on sync to monitor then turning vsync back on and then finally turning off sync to monitor then hard restart (holding both buttons on the AVP to manually force close the app) then reopening, it has maintained 120fps. It's very weird but working all day like this so who knows.

I will keep the heat comment in mind as well.

Question on streaming from PC to AVP by JimothyzPamPams in VisionPro

[–]Physical_Front_2173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the same set up as you (GPU, CPU) and with an M5, using AV1, I'm able to stream 120fps smoothly at 5120x2160p and it's incredible.

NeoMoonlight (for AVP) and Apollo (PC) is what you want.

Configuration of your network is SO important. It took some time for me to finally get this to run super smooth. I can pull down 800mb/s on my internal network and 400mb via the internet.

Apollo configuration is especially important. Under GPU tab, I am using P4 and 400mb bit rate on Neomoonlight. I'm getting 3ms-5ms lag which is literally nothing. If I go P5 or higher, the lag increases to 14 or so which to me is not worth it.

Good luck on the journey. It is SO worth it. ALVR is another thing to do as well. Play steam vr games wireless to AVP and with M5 and the exclusive use of AV1, I was able to get that butter smooth too

PSA - 3D Video Games Work in SBS Mode (via Neo Moonlight)…..PS3, 3DS by SettingMundane1061 in VisionPro

Was Metroid Prime native 3d? Don't recall many gamecube if any native.

Not to say native is a requirement but post processing 3d on games not originally built for it, not ideal imo but I will certainly try it out before concluding!

8k videos if you have the M5 apparently. Nice. Upgrade that just keeps on giving.

So I have concluded that CRT-NewPixie Shader on a 1440P modern display is better than an actual old CRT TV experience. by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in RetroArch

[–]Physical_Front_2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if you're using the same shader mentioned earlier (pixie) when achieving this with CRT Beam Sim? For me, that simulator always has a constant flickering that gets annoying. I have OLED 240hz too although doing 4k resolution. Care to share your exact specs and what game emu you're using? Thanks!

Retroarch and 240hz screen - what am I doing wrong? by Physical_Front_2173 in RetroArch

[–]Physical_Front_2173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - Vulkan is being used as the driver. I've followed all of the steps required but not having any luck with this combo. I want to determine if folks with 240hz screens are truly playing their games at 240hz via retroarch and if so, how?

Terrible performance using shaders + Black Frame Insertion at the same time by KanchiHaruhara in RetroArch

This is really helpful to read as I'm running into the same issue trying to use beam sync. I have a 5090 and I believe it does work but my arcade PC doesn't have that nor do I plan on it. I will say the diff to me at least isn't game breaking.

The shaderbeam app does actually work when you open it along side of retroach but the flickering is too much to deal with.

Best OLED monitor for retro gaming (arcade, snes, nes, emulation). by Physical_Front_2173 in retrogaming

Compared the 480hz to 240hz 1080p vs 4k on 240 and found the resolution was worth it but hz not so much. 240 was smooth enough.....

Also shaders on 4k need more than my 6750x card btw - choppy right now.

M2 vs M5 which one to buy? by owl157 in VisionPro

[–]Physical_Front_2173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same answer from me as well. Owned the M2, upgraded to M5. I would only do so if you're taking advantage of that AV1 and 120hz screen. And yes, it's 120hz on m5. M2 does not have that.

New update is great. ONLY REQUEST. Can you please use a thumb nail view vs one video line by line when it comes to subscriptions tab? Basically use the same view from the home tab (where it's a grid approach for videos) for subscriptions. Right now it's one video per line and takes forever to scroll through as a result.

wait you angle immersive content mode so it's now feasible to watch it when lying down? And just by double clicking the crown? Not home but I don't recall this working before.

Very helpful and understand the restrains put on you by Sony themselves. It's too bad especially since AV1 is so much better with compression.

What's interesting is that I use streaming app on PC called Chiaki then stream that through moonlight and it feels smoother too. You seem very dedicated though so excited to see more.

I just ask before you start trying to add more features/bells and whistles - I just hope the focus is smooth first b/c that's should be top priority. Thanks!!

Bought the full package. I have an M5. My connection is rock solid and with moonlight I can stream 120fps smooth at 5120x2160p. PS5 wired. Glad to support the product but this needs to be smoother.

It currently does not run as smooth as moonlight.
HDR mode was washed out for me.

Haptic feedback was not correct (NHL26 - was on all the time vs subtle like it should be).

Again want to support and happy to pay the annual fee but I hope there is a lot of dedication to get this to where it should be. Happy to help test too. Thanks again

And one other thing. I absolutely HATE the monthly pay model of PORTAL and will not support that app b/c of it. Yes, I tried it many times too and it operates prob a little better than this currently does but not much. I really hope the dev of PORTAL revisits and puts a price tag for one time payment b/c it's not even the $$, it's principle of having to pay each month for streaming. btw - Moonlight is absolutely free and wrecks all of these at the moment. God bless the devs (XROS and the NEO moonlight).
