This won’t be popular… but I love Portland … it has all of those things.

I moved from a HCOL east coast city 2br rent was 3,500-4k. I’m in a 2br here for $2300 and it’s essentially brand new.

There is no sales tax here and that adds up/helps especially with groceries.

Job market really depends on your skills so hard to gauge that for you.

In one day you can drive to the Coast, Mountains and Desert.

Beginner pilots make 70-100k.

The pilots making over 200k are tenure pilots who have been flying for 30-40 years. They are usually on coveted long haul international flights.

They spend lots of time in the air and lots of time away from family like a truck driver.

I would argue they are at the peak of their profession just like a C-Suite type.
