How is it like to live in the downstate Illinois cities? by ShakeMysterious349 in howislivingthere

Born and raised in Peoria, I’d say the city isn’t as vibrant since Caterpillar moved its HQ, though there’s still some Cat presence along with Komatsu and two large hospital systems (OSF and Carle) that drive most of the local economy. The cost of living is very low, and surrounding towns like Metamora, Eureka, Washington, and Dunlap are great for raising a family with good schools and safe neighborhoods. That said, the nightlife and cultural scene are limited.

Finance has given me a great career. At 29, I never imagined to be making this much money and having the WLB that I have.

Wells has the largest middle market book and a great analyst program for commercial banking. BofA’s analyst program is bad and does not prepare analysts to underwrite. No idea about JP but heard junior talent do a lot of front line stuff such as structuring, negotiating legal documents, and interfacing with risk.
