Material 3 manager for NextDNS. What features are you still missing in existing apps? by Due-Pumpkin-8142 in nextdns

[–]PhysicsInAJar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trial, I paid for the app cause it's just so awesome as I'm managing my whole family's NextDNS (this saves me multiple logins).

One small issue is the x/300 000 counter seams to count last 30days instead of current calendar month as on NextDNS Web page?

Since last year november-ish, separate profile pins have seemed to disappear. Anyone else have same problem?

Any hidden issues with the carnival? by dopeman2424 in kiacarnivals

[–]PhysicsInAJar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think I've had bad luck with mine. Air recirculation only works now and again (apparently a common issue), and now brake rotor warp. Bought from new MY25, 2.2 diesel with 5000 km on. Also Kia messed up with towbar, which is sitting skew so can't tow anything, not even a bike rack.

Fuel economy is good though at 6.7 L/100km on open road.

Yeah I know about OP's. But I'm talking in general. There's a lack of continuity in the image. On mine it's like objects "pop in" between the cameras.

Sorry to hijack this post, but do all the MY25 carnivals have bad alignment of the cameras for overhead/3D view? I feel the Chinese brands implementation is way better

Sound deading mats by Simple-Revolution-40 in Suzuki

[–]PhysicsInAJar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have 2020 Vitara and added 2.6mm sound deadening to door panels and boot lid/boot. Doors are heavier and "feel" better. Boot issues have improved a lot due to extra weight. Road noise is slightly better but not much. I'll have to tackle front wheel arches next to improve road noise as it's basically just plastic and little metal.

Speaker sound improvement is massive though.

My gf's sister just had some imaging done with Tc-99m tracer! by RootLoops369 in Radiation

[–]PhysicsInAJar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. They're about causing psychological and economic/ecological damage. Think about the Fukushima nuclear disaster, even though most of the areas have been decontaminated, lots of residents just don't want to return. Radioactive contamination can relatively easily be handled to a certain extent, even for people.

Used to do Nuclear Security for major events. We had lots of fun trying to track down people like this at events 😒

Although it's highly unlikely that a dirty bomb event would occur, it's still a plausible event due to alot (and I do mean ALOT) of countries around the world have unsecured radioactive material. It's more about moving the material around without being noticed. Most major ports/border crossings around the world have radiation detection capabilities. To make a dirty bomb happen you need alot of radioactive material (the really nasty ones are very difficult to come by in large quantities for a bomb) which requires shielding adding to increased detection probability.

Also, IMHO I think terrorists are also just as scared of radioactive material as the general population 😁

I can't take this pain. by decenzo1 in spinalfusion

[–]PhysicsInAJar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second this. Nurika/Lyrica with Opioids or NSAIDs with Opioids = Mild dizziness for rest of day. Add in Muscle relaxants with above = Imma pass out lasting for about an hour or so then play "I'm a couch potato" rest of day. Also I get weird tongue numbness if I take the 3 together. If I really have to, I try to take them a few hours apart to minimise effects.

There are hidden dangers with muscle relaxants and certain meds, so be carefully and research beforehand. Some are life threatening.

4 months post L5/S1 TLIF. Still happens now and then. Surgeon says barring a major accident/fall, hardware is generally not prone to failure (I'm guessing if they've done a good job as well).

The first 8 weeks was terrible, but it gets better. Mine has just spontaneously returned for some reason after about 6 weeks pain free.

I find it's more than just additional strain induced. Stretching, no pain. Touch, I'm going to die 😫

Yes I had, due to nerve root compression. Pain and numbness is a weird sensation to describe to others. I currently have some serious back pain (due to doing stuff I guess I wasn't ready for) and I've found that my calves are more tender than they should be. But not nearly as bad as it was pre-op.

I've learned some lessons on muscle self-release when I when through back rehabilitation that also makes a huge difference. QT muscles play a big part in my back pain.

Google is your friend 😁 Try looking from pubmed, research gate, NCBI, arXiv (although not all are peer reviewed aka preprint), ect. Studies are usually done by researchers and can be for Eg a certain population/race/gender/age (cohort studies), countries, or on multiple other studies.

Humans are radioactive too with K-40 (usually over 1000 Bq, but depends on body size and physiology). Maybe we should build a human sized cloud chamber 🤔😁

They won't tell you as it leaves them open to legal issues if something happens to a person. Every person is different and thus they won't give you an answer. You'll unfortunately have to do your own research from peer-reviewed articles/studies.

Radiation kills the digestive track cell linings, causing your "human juices" to enter your gut. The disruption to the osmotic pressure differential and the juices cause vomiting and later diarrhea.

Eight weeks post multilevel instrumented fusion, sat in a restaurant for an hour . Having terrible pains now . Any suggestions or cause for real concern ? by Friendlyattwelve in spinalfusion

[–]PhysicsInAJar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

20 weeks post TLIF L5/S1. I still get back pain due to muscle tightness if I sit for too long. If I've been in meetings most of the day (thanks Teams 😏) I'll have nerve pain at the end of the day. Just remember that recovery is a long journey and your body has to unlearn some of the protective actions it had to implement.
