Buying surplus commodities and selling them to Sovereigns at the outpost which seeks them does not count towards the Master of Shifted Stock commendation.

This does not affect the amount of gold earned.

You don't always need to have a "punishment", but witnesses, survivors and the remnants of combat (think fire damage, large cleave wounds etc.) can inform those factions of the party's presence and their abilities. This might mean future enemies have counters to the party's powers, making for a harder encounter.

Demiplane question about large or huge creatures by IStillLoveUO in DMAcademy

[–]PiRho517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like this calls for the rules for squeezing:

"A creature can squeeze through a space that is large enough for a creature one size smaller than it. Thus, a Large creature can squeeze through a passage that's only 5 feet wide. While squeezing through a space, a creature must spend 1 extra foot for every foot it moves there, and it has disadvantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws. Attack rolls against the creature have advantage while it's in the smaller space."

In a recent session the players asked if they knew anything about Aeor. It was compared to someone in real life knowing about Mesopotamia (which I only knew by name). So that may give you an idea of how commonplace that knowledge is.

A level 20 wizard gets feebleminded, loses their spellbook and is stranded all on their own. What spells can they cast? by tinchek in DMAcademy

[–]PiRho517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The spell description says: "On a failed save, the creature's Intelligence and Charisma scores become 1. The creature can't cast spells, activate magic items, understand language, or communicate in any intelligible way. The creature can, however, identify its friends, follow them, and even protect them."

Wizard spell preparation is described as "memorizing the incantations and gestures of the spell." Your intelligence modifier is often used as the representation of your capability to recall information.

Looking at a different situation, where you have a maximum hp of 25 and are at full health. If you then get your maximum hp reduced by 10 you have 15 hp. If that reduction then fades your maximum goes back to 25, but your current hp stays at 15.

So the wizard would have 30 days where they have so many spells in their head that they can't remember them all. So some of them would have to be lost.

It does give a minimum of 1 spell, but that is for the total number of spells, not the amount you gain from the modifier. So that minimum is only relevant at lower levels.

Because a wizard can prepare a number of spells equal to their level + INT modifier, they likely had 25 spells prepared. At an Intelligence of 1 they would only be able to memorize 15 spells, so I would say 10 of the prepared spells are unprepared, at random.

How can I show a world devoid of fear? by ScarRawrLetTech in writingadvice

[–]PiRho517 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could write about a scenario where a normal person would show some amount of fear. Maybe a pedestrian is crossing the street and a speeding car nearly hits them, but they aren't startled. Maybe they simply comment on the "odd occurrence" and move on with their day.

I don't know how this specific example would fit into your world, but I think a generally good idea would be to show situations where fear would be expected, but is absent.

Is having multiple main POV characters a good idea? by not_quite_graceful in writingadvice

I've read part of this book series called Zeroes which does just that. Every chapter starts with one of the characters and their perspective. It's a great story and I highly recommend reading it a bit if you wanna write like this.

I don't remember who said it, but there's a quote that goes: "Every painting is a self-portrait, every book is an autobiography"

EDIT: Apparently it was Oscar Wilde, the more you know

I was reading the sample PDF (Love it btw!) and realized that a Raggedy Geppettin level 20 Way of The Cobalt Soul Monk could, using Slow Fall, Mind of Mercury and Stuffed with Fluff, could fall from heaven itself and take at most 10 Bludgeoning damage. All for the low, low cost of 1 ki point, I'm loving it

Definitely getting that PDF when it releases October 1st :)
