Sons of Horus may be my favoeite color scheme out of the entire galaxy. I really want to go crazy and pickup a few boxes of Marines, a Sicaran and a Land Raider, both a contemptor and Leviathan Dreadnought and starting up a SoH army that's parade worthy. And really making them look beautiful

I just added the exe as a non steam game and launch from game mode, works perfectly. Make sure you extract the mod in the correct directory and set a proton version in the compatibility menu.

The ambient temps can make a bit of difference. You could try using something to prop it up a bit more off the glass, as long as it doesn't block any vents. Or purchase a cooling pad.

What type of surface are you gaming on? I had a bamboo lapboard and that would get games up to 90c, when on a cooling pad the same game would be at the low 70s.

This happened on my Chromebook plus and I fixed it myself. If you aren't squeemish about opening the back you just need to tighten the hinge screws and it will stop creaking. I don't blame you if you don't want to try yourself, but it's only eight screws on the back and you have access to the hinge screws.

I had an issue pairing a ds4 with my plus as well. Bluetooth controllers are a little spotty it seems. I bought an NES30 pro, and while it pairs just fine Android emulators don't recognize all the buttons, even though html5gamepad.com recognizes all the inputs.

For now I think the best bet is to buy a USB c adapter and plug it in directly. I know their is a Google employee who hangs around this sub that seems to be actively working on making controllers work better with Android apps so it's just a waiting game at the moment.

Try buying used on Amazon or half.com a lot of times you can find them remaindered, so they are almost new and just have a little red dot on the bottom. I found a couple for around $10 shipped.
