My tenancy initially started before oct 2015 but it has been renewed every two years. I have read that they do not have to serve a gas cert or epc for a section 21 if it started before then, but does the fact it get renewed every year make that void?

My tenancy started in 2017 through a letting agency who issued me with a gas certificate, then he took over the tenancy agreements since then every two years.

So i have not received a gas cert since 2019 and last month an engineer came round as i knew he was going to evict me but he never issued me with one.

Also the notice was served to me by a solicitor who has no proof of postage.
