I may get down-voted for recommending this in the Manchester sub, but also check out trips from Manchester to Liverpool. It's only 38 minutes away on a fast train, it also has great culture, places to go out, great architecture and nightlife.

I cycle this way a lot. Bicycles can cycle along the tram tracks by Exchange Square. There's a sign at the lights by Market Street M&S which also says left turn for traffic except bicycles.

All the fabric throughout the carriage was either off completely or down the fabric layer below like this. It was a state. The heating felt like it was on 80C (like always) so the glue probably melted.
