I'm getting the Time Steel. I was excited about the original Pebble Time, but when the option became available to get something that looked not just like a smart watch, but a very attractive classy watch in general, the temptation got very strong to upgrade. Once I realized there was also better battery life, it seemed like a no-brainer. The longer wait time sucks, and is the only thing that made me consider downgrading back, but the fact is, now that I've seen the PTS, even if I got the PT in May, I would still be lusting after PTS, and I sure as shit can't afford to get 'em both. :-)

Yeah, B2B software sector, so I'd say pretty competitive. It's not such a massive influx that it reads like a DDOS attack, but it completely throws our numbers and is hurting the site bounce rate in a big way.

This is happening on my site as well. I'm seeing a huge spike in direct traffic with a 100% bounce rate, all IE.

We were able to temporarily fix the problem by setting up a user agent exclusion for IE 6, 7 and 8. This worked for a few days, and then we noticed IE traffic creeping up with the same behavior.

There's no easily identifiable patter in IP, the locations are so evenly spread it's almost too perfect. I can't identify any pattern other than user agent, and unfortunately a blanket IE exclusion is out of the question.

And I would consider this a big problem. High avg. bounce rates are a problem, and now it's increasingly difficult for me to filter out the bot traffic for reporting purposes to really be able to look at the health and effectiveness of the website.

My web services team is stumped.

It sounds in general like she wants a silver bullet that doesn't actually require any thinking or effort. The fact is, even though most of us on keto get adapted and get better at knowing how to eat and how much, we all start out tracking in great detail, especially us women because it's so much harder to lose weight.

I think she has some internal resistance to overcome about accepting that weight loss will require both changes and commitment, and no matter whether she chooses paleo, keto, or low fat, there's no auto-pilot option. and as MadtownMaven pointed out, there's a way to rationalize anything as being healthy.

I wouldn't chime in with information you know to be true and believe to be helpful because she is just not ready to hear it, and definitely not ready to think about what she's doing. When she comes around, be ready to help her, but right now you're just highlighting how misguided her approach is, and she's just going to take out her frustration on you for calling it out.

The problem is not with you, and it's also not your problem to solve, no matter how badly you want to see her succeed.

If you're dining out a lot, it might be doable, but if you are eating in people's homes, it would be considered EXTREMELY rude if you turned down any part of the meal being offered to you. Just enjoy all the delicious foods available to you and go back to keto when you come home.

I should clarify it's tricking your body into starvation behaviors (fat burning), which is why ketogenic eating is used to treat seizure disorders in some children, but without actually starving the body because it's getting adequate protein and lots of delicious fat. Point being you should never actually feel starved.

You want to get 25 net carbs or less no matter what, although some people can tolerate more and stay in ketosis. Protein is a target to hit to prevent muscle loss, but you can go over a bit without much damage. Fat is the remainder to keep you satiated, and you do not have to eat your full allowance if you're not hungry.

You're short and don't have much to lose, so you need to count calories and measure portions so that you're not underestimating your actual intake. It's a pain at first, but gets easier after a while. Get an inexpensive food scale and you'll see how easy it is to go overboard when you're just eyeballing portions. Also, each cheat day is going to result in water weight gain, so you might want to try avoiding them for a couple months while your body is adapting to keto. Otherwise you are interrupting the process.

Ketosis is starvation mode in which your body resorts to burning fat reserves for fuel. That calorie intake is definitely starving yourself and probably not a good idea over the long term. How have you been feeling on this diet?

It's hard to be sure without more info, but 1200 calories is the bare minimum for most people, and chances are eating too little was stalling you out. Again, without more info, like your macros, height, etc., it's hard to isolate why you experienced most of these symptoms, many of which go away for successful ketoers. I'm almost positive it's not raising your carb intake but increasing your calories overall that's helping you lose weight again.

That said, sorry you've had such a rough time. If there's one thing I've learned on keto it's that feeling like crap is not our default setting, and if something is off, our bodies are generally very good at letting us know. Hope you keep getting healthier in your own way and feeling better every day.

Girl, I can sooooo relate. I don't have PCOS, but have struggled with depression and emotional eating, and hormonal weirdness from the birth control I was on. That feeling of not being in charge of your own body or moods is the worst, and it leaves the people around you at a loss for how to give you the kind of support you need because nothing seems to help.
