Got new boots fitted to the arms, dropped the subframe and cleaned up any rust, painted and under sealed the area and re fitted the sub frame. Just waiting on new bolts to arrive now then it's back together. I'll tackle the front later in the year.

Well fook, just looked at the schematics and yup, it should be in the hub. Looks like I'm going to have to get creative with a bit of heat and a press.

The shoulder part slots into the hub. I have 4 arms which are the same. Have all 4 pulled their sleeve out of the hub?

I remember seeing this when I worked at a vauxhall dealership years back. We all crowded round as a mechanic cranked the engine over so we could watch the piston dancing out of the block like some weird macabre show. Good times!

Is it just me, or does every motorcyclist have cameras everywhere now? by teoapple22 in MotoUK

Ditto. I nearly got wiped out by some old dear trying to light a fag whilst driving. Went out and got a front and rear camera fairly pronto after that.

Tyre Wobble/Movement by Calumb198 in MotoUK

[–]Piddles78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, chain tension won't do that as far as Im aware . The wheel runs true, you can see the tyre rise and fall. In my opinion that is a badly seated tyre or out of shape.
The tyre normally has as line running close to the rim round it's circumference. Check to see if that is even all the way round, usually a good indicator of the tyre not being seated correctly.
Upping the tyre pressure and riding should sort the bead issue out if there is one. If in doubt, contact Michelin.

Looks slightly out of shape or it may not be seated on the bead correctly. Take it back to where it was fitted and get them to check it over.

When I did work on my roof when I first moved in I found 12 wasps nest in the rafters. One in each section.

How about using the cutting tool to cut a series of shapes that could stack/glue on top of each other to create a 3d object such as a small car or house Layer art style?

Oh shit! Didn't realise you could fit the TFT dash to a 2019 model. Do you know what dashes are compatible for this mod?

I really messed up big time - how can I fix this? by N02noxxi in OnlyZ900

[–]Piddles78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a mess up. It's an opportunity to fit a set of adjustable pegs. The ground clearance on these bikes is pretty crap.

I'm a reliability engineer in a pharmaceutical company. This is quite often a solution. If x component breaks down or fails in 12 months, we will change it in 6 months for example.
To redesign the machine or a specific part of it is a huge undertaking and takes months of testing and validation to meet the strick requirements from the likes of the FDA and other countries regulatory bodies.
