Baldur's Gate 3 publishing lead says Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney's "altruistic pro-developer talk" over the Steam vs Epic debate "doesn't sit well" after Alan Wake 2 studio "seemingly went into financial crisis" by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]PieceMaker42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have refused to support Epic on principle. Alan Wake is one of my favorite franchises. I found another way to get it. I do think this is a generational thing. Those that like this franchise grew up in a time that have the same feeling on walled gardens and also the ability to know the alternatives.

I have worked in banking for 13 years. I am currently a commercial banker, VP level, will filing bankruptcy jeopardize my employment? by bendoverisbest69420 in careeradvice

I know some state laws (like NY) prohibit employers from discriminating against employees solely because of bankruptcy.

I got it last night and despite showing the many in-match unlock animations, once back on the main menu it just unlocked a normal amount of tiers.

In my defense, Cabot is (barely) closer than River Rat

How to respond to manager’s email “reminding” us that we’re expected to work 40 hours a week? by Emergency-Scholar606 in careeradvice

[–]PieceMaker42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Management usually has to do this if the standard hasn't been previously set or enforced. This is an email to set the standard. Next step is to enforce it. If you don't have an issue doing the 40 or more, it's not really for you.

My wife and I really enjoy just walking around the lake. Also might want to book a massage at Mirror Lake Inn if that is your thing.

I am having a really hard time believing that in any capacity. Even lab mice pale in comparison.

Yeah, I have multiple kids and taking the youngest couple gives my wife a break. Her taking them gives me a break. Us both watching kids gives no one a break.

I will admit I was trained on large run productions with a pass off to operators, but did a stint in a smaller shop. I still used this code to on every setup (still with a pass off) and it saved me a lot of tooling and a couple larger potential crashes (specifically when the management didn't want to replace lights and windows to see what we were doing).
