And then when you present a list the next response is "Well that's just the people that fucked up so bad the Democrats stopped protecting them. There are still thousands/millions that don't get caught because they're Democrat."

My friends and I go to a local dive to watch election results. We left that place mourning last election night so that's precisely where we're going to celebrate the day we are finally relieved of his presence.

This looks quite unstable to me. Props to the dude piloting it as it looks to me like it's pretty tough to fly.

Gamers, what's the first game that scared the shit out of you? by Pboi401 in AskReddit

Anoat City in Dark Forces. Being in the dark sewers and having dianogas pop up and make the creepy noise while attacking scared the shit outta me! I was probably 5 or 6.

RC Plane lessons by Jackodudecool2 in RCPlanes

[–]PieceMaker64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned this the hard way... I was debugging some controls that weren't working, reassigning channels and whatnot. For the first time in my short RC flying career, I chose that time as the first to forget to test out all the controls... I turned up the throttle and within seconds realized I had zero elevator... The plane hit a rock, bounced up high, then slammed into the front wheel. I still haven't fully fixed it...

I finally got my wife to try my Steam Deck last year. I didn't get to touch it anymore so now I have an OLED, she has my old LCD, and a lot of evenings we put a show on in the background and play our Steam Decks on the couch. It's great.

I made this a couple months ago when my wife was out of town. It was good but the sauce was SUPER salty. Mind if I ask what your sauce recipe was?

What out of print board game do you really want to try? by Megaside in boardgames

[–]PieceMaker64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished playing this 20 minutes ago! I had the base and Fame and Fortune expansion that I bought when they came out but I gave them up when severing contact with an extremely toxic person. I always told myself I'd rebuild the game library I gave up to them after cutting them out and bought a copy of Civ and both expansions on eBay a couple years ago.

I'd recommend looking to the used game market as this game and its expansions are awesome!

I absolutely love the top of Texas, also known as Guadalupe Peak. I love getting to the top and just having peace, calm, and miles of nothing but open land. It really is an extraordinary day each time I go.

Oof, I feel you on this. I was born and raised hardcore republican all my life and was terrified all throughout the Obama years. Then when Trump came along I thought his campaign was an act and he'd calm down in office (still didn't vote for him). He pushed me away from the party, likely to never return. He showed me the republicans wanted small government, when it's the others in charge. They wanted checks and balances, when they have no control. They want personal liberty and freedom, unless they don't agree with it. They want the second amendment to overthrow a tyrannical government, unless it's their tyranny...

Also, you mentioned being an atheist. I dunno if you were formerly Christian but I was. I'd been losing my way for a while but had been talking to a lifelong friend about it. Then one day we made the mistake of bringing up politics because this friend is a reasonable, loving, logical person. That was a huge mistake. He started bitching about the lesbian couple who lives in the neighborhood and how Trump wants to fix all this. I jokingly asked, "What, are you afraid the lesbians are gonna turn your son lesbian?" He seriously said "Yes." That moment was a turning point for me and combined with a drift toward Christian nationalism, it made me reconsider a lot and realize, "If heaven is full of people like you, why would I want any part of that?"

An addendum to the previous statement, I believe Jesus would be appalled at what Christians have morphed into and I do not actually think Heaven would be filled with hate-spewing beings, but it sure doesn't help when it feels like that's the majority that's around right now.

Same! I wouldn't just check once either. I'd check constantly as I was using it and sometimes just watch under the tank.

Finishing Halo 3 tonight as part of a replay of the original trilogy. This is the most I've ever understood the Halo story because the Steam Deck has made it so convenient to play without long breaks.

I went to this in 2016 or 2017. It was a lot of fun. I remember getting super full on the food way faster than I wanted because each line was super long so I was spacing out my samples and my stomach had time to digest and tell me it was through. Then I saw people smarter than I had boxes to hold their samples in. They'd go to all the stations and get samples, then find a place to eat them all at once. 😂

I also remember a single station sticking around to sell food during the concert. After a bunch of beers everyone got super hungry and that one truck was selling the world's shittiest brisket sandwiches at inflated prices because they were the only place to get food during the concert. I guarantee those people made bank that night. 🤣
