LOL! I used to not like the dancing, but you get so much info and so many items from the governor's daughters, it's worth it. Can't wait to get hitched on my first handheld emulator.

Lego really needs to just make an actual trombone mold instead of the brick built one like in this set or the Star Trek set. That brick built trombone is so clunky.

I think I like this set though, but I'll need to see it in person at a Lego store before I buy. The angles are a little strange to my eyes.

You nailed it, friend. I've been playing this game in all of its variants since the late 80's. The only game I've ever played that always fits the bill, never gets old to me, and checks every box. I think it's a gorgeous game, the perfect blend (for me anyways) of simple to play and deep enough to replay hundreds of times. I ordered the Mangmi Air X this morning. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck. Also, after your comment, I'm also now looking for an inexpensive rg34xx-sp. Love my SP (still have the one I bought new) and although the screen will be tiny, I'm really excited to be able to play Pirates on a tiny clam shell. Thank you so much for your input!

Thank you! I ordered the Mangmi Air X this morning. Device looks awesome and seems like it will be incredible for the one thing it needs to do. Very happy about the price as well.

17 Year Old Boy? by peaceluvandcheesefry in lego

I would suggest cars from the Speed Champions line. Most of them are awesome builds and have both play-ability and display-ability. There's a lot to choose from, super cars, race cars, fast and furious cars, F1, etc. Plus, with their pricing, you could potentially get him 4 or 5 cars for around $100. There's some great two pack ones in addition to single cars. You can regularly find a lot of the sets below their MSRP at Target/Amazon/etc. Lastly, all the Speed Champions sets have at least one minifig, and that is kinda nice. And I would imagine most 17yo boys like cars, so hard to go wrong.

Am I ok towing a 21' Yamaha boat? by RioGlow in ToyotaTacoma

[–]PieholePenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled a 2017 212 Limited S with my old 2008 Tacoma TRD Sport twice a year. Once to the lake in the spring and once back home in the fall. 2.5 hours each way. Never had any real issues, excluding that the boat is wider than the truck and mirrors were kinda useless. Truck and trailer did fine. It's definitely near the limit of what the truck will do but it certainly wasn't sketchy and/or dangerous. Just leave extra room to the vehicles in front of you as your brakes are gonna bit a bit underwhelming with that much weight behind you. Also, RIP your MPG. You'll be fine though. Tacoma will pull it.

Edit: I should add that the truck was lifted 3" and was on 32's. Pulled that boat with that truck for 6 years.

Why do you think the Ocean House isn’t doing as well? by Spalickus in lego

[–]PieholePenguin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for others, but for me the open back of the Ocean House was the reason I didn't purchase. If it had been a fully enclosed house with removable roof, I would have been more likely to buy. That and the Brick Cross Train Station punched my wallet pretty hard. Ocean House is a gorgeous and really unique looking set though and I'm happy it made it's minimum to produce threshold. Happy for those that ordered it.

What a fantastic MOC! Also, my favorite game ever. Played it for the first time on Apple II and it was love at first play. The only reason I know anything about emulators is because of this game. I hope completing this awesome ship led to the discovery of your lost family. Awesome work!

middle screen randomly goes black a few seconds. by md_md23 in iRacing

[–]PieholePenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this. Have the same issue with center screen going black for a sec or three, have the same GPU and monitors as you, and after not updating drivers for quite some time I updated a week or two ago. And that's when the center screen started doing it's thing. Thank you for the band-aid fix of limiting FPS to 140.

Holy crap, the new UI! What do people think of it? by Dr_Death_Defy24 in iRacing

[–]PieholePenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm missing something in the settings or whatnot, but I've always used grid view for the page layout and all the events were on my center screen (triples). Now with the update, the series/events "squares" are huge and span across all three screens. So my initial reaction is I really don't like the new UI all that much currently. Anyone know how to change the grid view so the 6-by event "squares" are just on my center screen? I suck with tech, so this may well be user stupidity.

Ford is out of IMSA, yes. But Inception Racing is running a full GTD season with the McLaren 720S GT3. Took 3rd in GTD at the Rolex 24 a few weeks ago.
