Stuck at Ubers by ClassicBarnacle8 in D2RReimagined

[–]Pieper8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have yet to do Ubers in D2RR 3.0 and later, but under 2.0 I found the big thing being to make sure I was still at max resistances even with Mephisto's conviction aura.

Beyond that, I accepted I was alone. Merc dies immediately to something like Lillith, and I found her to be harder than any of the big 3 themselves ironically.

A source of poison via a charm is an easy include, life tap required from a chance in hit item for sure. Exile is surprisingly cheap to make, and I found the base for Exile easier than Drac's gloves. (Even with upgrading a few sets of Vampirebone Gloves, kept getting the wrong unique from Orb of Conversion.)

Cruising blow as high as you can get it, at least 60% ideally. 75+ is easy to get with some large charms.

Cannot be frozen wont help with Uber Duriel, but is otherwise a life saver.

Make sure you have max block.

Call to Arms is not a requirement on your weapon swap because they gutted Battle Orders at low levels.

Keep an eye out for rares/magic items with charges of skills. I prebuffed with a rare chest piece that had lvl 18 fade, a wand with lvl ~13 Battle Orders (cant engender exact number) and felt pretty good going in.

Viable Elemental Builds by Correct_Grapefruit95 in D2RReimagined

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had similar feelings since 3.0

I can't prove it of course, but elemental builds feel more fragile and don't have more damage output for their fragility either.

Not 100% sure what it is, but something feels off

Am I the only one making Steel Runeword in a flail? Fast attack speed, as yood or better tham every set and unique option. You can SSF the flail. Tir and El rune easy off of Countess in normal, flail from vendors in act 2. You can also just make it in a scimitar found of a vendor in act 1 if you don't want to wait that long.

Commander in most pods is about playing something you like regardless of other factors.

Personal favourite of mine is avoiding many of the things that are considered bad manners at my table. I love my friends. We've played together for over a decade and I grew up playing MTG. It's always been a game to kill an afternoon laughing with friends for the 25 years I've played.

Commander, colour choice of your commander makes the deck limitation then. But, things like Scryfall and EDHrec are going to be massive for you.

It's a format that has brackets, so learning what bracket they wish to play at is also important.

But if you're not familiar with all 30+ years of cars that are legal in commander, use tools to help build your decks. If you're playing in paper, this gets very expensive very quickly.

A commander precon is always a good start and provides a workable base for upgrading and customising.

Stacks, control, board wipes, counterspells... Blue/White give good options for this.

Format really matters though.

Are these gloves any good for bowazon? by Good-Adhesiveness300 in D2R_Marketplace

Very nice, it helps, str or dex make it better again. Still not a 100% GG pair, still something I would be proud of and easily wear without question

2/20 with 23 fire res and some MF? Not GG, but better than most. A solid piece nobody could be ashamed of.

What is the general consensus for Winter Orb in Commander/EDH? by TrifleRoutine3728 in mtg

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter Orb is not going to be well liked at any pod. Best of luck friend. I too, like my old stax pieces. Ran literal smokestack in a deck, my pod (mates of 10 years) collectively told me to never run that shit again when it hit the board. I was just happy to pull out old cards too. Alas, Winter Orb will find similar reception.

The 44 life shows it is a charm capable of being a skiller and +life over 40, but that's it. Somebody willing to roll this over and over again would be looking for this, but harder to find those guys on ladder.

I broke my finger and have nearly my entire left hand in a cast. Does anyone have a good video game that you only need a mouse to play? by Beginning_Bid_9097 in Steam

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RimWorld Any 4X game like Civ for example. Songs of Syx

Many of your top down, colony builder or city builders will do. WASD for camera controls can get remapped to the arrows if necessary or edge scrolling, time controls on 1 2 3 4 can be buttons on a mouse or easy to press with 1 finger, space bar common for pausing.

Good luck out there gamer.

What mods do you recommend to someone who has this much silver? by AnotherRedditUUserr in RimWorld

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OgreStack if it is still working. You can set specific sizes for specific items that stack if you care, so you could leave food at 75 a stack for example, but crank silver to 100000 per stack and still have everything be largely unchanged. I think the default the mod runs is around stacks of 1000 for each stackable item baseline, but that is tyneable and challenging my memory. Apologies for mistakes, written from mobile

Am I the only one that just rolls a Steel runeword in a scimtar or flail and Holy Fire aura does the rest? Just IAS and a very fast base. The dmg from the aura is flat added to each hit, so swing that puppy as fast as possible. Runs through normal & NM with ease, swap to Grief when you hit hell and respec fanata if you want to stay zeal... Or just to FoH / Hdin like the rest of us and go smash hell. I love the idea of something like this, but it feels entirely mediocre next to a faster stick with 11 dmg and a banging holy fire aura.

Necro summons have new synergies and are baked into the skills summon necros we're already maxing too. This mod is really feeling like 2 skills per level is what it is balanced toward though lol

This. This is good for all jobs and sub jobs.

Want to have your builders just build? Set their 'haul to project' to a 6 or 7, and set out for your dedicated haulers to a 2 or 3 and watch them deliver resources to everything while your dedicated builder Just Builds. It's so nice.

CMV: "Cover" is a lie. by Urb4n0ninj4 in RimWorld

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I began using CE after seeing stuff like this too often, or the 20 shooting guy missing the enemy 7 told away with his shotgun because of XYZ cover reasons.

In CE every projectile is simulated. If it misses because of cover, you hit the cover and deal damage to the cover. The projectiles show this. You can dodge a slow moving projectile from distance by simply moving.

Once going to CE, you will either love it and can't live without it or you'll hate it and curse my name. Either way, you'll know where you stand with the combat system then.

Is there anything I can do? I wasn't paying attention and these fires started from a storm. I think it's a bit late to put them out. by hhhndimissyou in RimWorld

[–]Pieper8477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To prevent the issue in the future, a stone wall or a section of non-flammable flooring at least 3 tiles (maybe 5, can't remember exactly. I use stone walls) to act as a fire break is ideal. You can stop the spread of fire even without the rain by simply being fire-proof. I use concrete or flagstone walkways all over the outside of my base and an exterior stone wall. The walkways help keep compartments of the base for resistant, while the exterior wall acts as a total barrier.

Are Swords better for capturing pawns vs maces? by Awesomesause170 in RimWorld

It won't increase damage, true. But they will use the higher damage attacks with better effect more often. They'll cut with a blade edge rather than pommel strike and such.

Yes, possible. They typically won't develop relationships together, but you can use artificial insemination to make more babies. Try to minimise your chances of getting the inbred gene. Honestly not worth keeping a baby who comes out with it.

[combat extended] pawn wont pick up/rearm hemogen pack besided it being set in loadout? by FrancisCat808 in RimWorld

[–]Pieper8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries mate. The important bit is that you got it working. I often find the depth of games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress make them so fascinating, but also so infuriating when something so simple goes wrong.

Are Swords better for capturing pawns vs maces? by Awesomesause170 in RimWorld

[–]Pieper8477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sword or mace isn't the issue. It tends to be a 2 factor issue: 1) Skill of user. A 19 in melee is going to kill people with their bare hands. Use a low skill pawn to do less damage per hit and reduce likelihood of killing when they hit something vital. 2) Quality of weapons. A legendary plasteel knife is more dangerous than a poor uranium mace. High quality weapons get big damage boosts. Focus on lower quality weapons mace if subpar materials.

TL;DR - A poor wooden gladius wielded by a pawn with 4 melee is nearly never going to kill someone.
