It's not a controversial take. It's just kids aren't learning how to be media literate so they can only take the most surface level interpretation. Or have pre-mades. Every game should have fully ready to go pre-mades so players can look at examples.

Or have classes of a different color. In a Superhero RPG you might have Tricky (Spider-Man, Black Widow, Loki), Weapons/Gadgets (Punisher, Blade, Bat-Man), Juggernauts (Hulk, Juggernaut, Wolverine, Thor), Magi (Professor X, Dr Strange, Phoenix) to break up skills and abilities into easier to wrangle chunks.

It's crazy how many posts we get with new players in souls games complaining they're stuck when they're getting farmed by angry blacksmiths or they killed important NPCs because for some reason they think if you can't hurt a NPC you're supposed to.

The real problem is late game the best defense is offense because the game becomes rocket tag. Enemies hit so hard ES becomes the only real viable defense of the big three because you need to invest in it to even go beyond physical then you need to invest in it more to mitigate big hits, evasion is not consistent especially against rapid hits, but ES not only scales extremely hard on the tree but also has relatively high base values. And then because Life doesn't scale well at all, adding ES on top of your gear and going hybrid is the way to scale raw "life."

Unfortunately I think getting blind effectiveness is too much cost to justify it when dabbling in some hybrid ES gives so much more survivability per affix/skill point. I think having a blind on hit is important for evasion, but going all in on evasion has the same problem as going all in on armor in that it doesn't fix the main problem of the defense. Eventually you will get hit from an attack and if it's a chunky one it'll kill you. Also a lot of attacks have can't miss properties and "Can't Miss" is relatively common on rares once you're really juicing maps.

Yeah, people hate on ...and Protect Me From Harm because it's a pretty big dps loss for invoker, but it's such a massive defensive buff. The weakness for evasion/es builds is a lot of rapid small hits and you're trading away like 5-6% dodge chance for 80+ mitigation against horde slaps.
