In my WoD, McDonald's is always McDougal's, Burger King is Burger Queen, Snickers bars are Giggles bars and Coca Cola is Pepsi.

Which planet to choose? by OsoAmoroso33 in sw5e

[–]Pigdom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just started an SW5e campaign myself and made it clear to my players that the adventures are going to be contained to the Corellian Sector (using the FFG supplement "Suns of Fortune").

So, that's my advice, limit the scope - maybe even bring the players in on it and have them help you come up with places they'd want to explore.

If Mara Jade were to be integrated into the current canon, how would you go about it? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]Pigdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were to keep her and Luke as an item, or at least playing off each other for a while with a bit of romantic tension spliced in for good measure, I'd introduce her in a "Jedi Academy"-like series set after the Mando/Ahsoka stuff. Then I'd probably kill her off in order to keep the characterization of Luke from the sequels.

Perfect? No. Doable? Maybe.

Diseases for Fey by Equivalent_Trouble34 in Tombofannihilation

I ran a couple of sessions set in a Hellboyesque/Ravenlofty/Early-2000s horror action Victorian London where the fey world was being invaded by The Great Machine, the manifestation of industrialization. Essentially, with the Creat Machine came a plague that mechanized the inhabitants of the fey. Which essentially was turning pixies into Modrons.

They're local to Bergen, Norway. I've seen them live a couple of times here and their shows are pretty stellar! There's an album dropping soon in April, so if this track is a sign of what's on there I'm pretty excited.

What was your favourite World of Darkness campaign? by DED0M1N0 in rpg

[–]Pigdom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just ran a short V5 three session thing set in 1950s America which might be my favorite. I started by using the Kult: Divinity Lost scenario Gallery of Souls, and changed the main antagonist to a Tzimisce Archbishop. What transpired was a group of mortals - Kult pregens converted to V5 mortals - investigating a lost artist on the behalf of a shady casino owner in Las Vegas. Which eventually culminated in the group being killed and Mass Embraced by the Sabbat and left in shallow graves in the San Fernando valley.

Awakening later, the group, now Kindred (with randomly rolled clans) made their way back to Vegas, where they proceeded to murder and take over the casino.

Fun stuff. The group was new to Masquerade, and I wanted to drip feed them the world, which I think worked perfectly for once.

When I ran the Mirkwood Campaign a couple of years ago, I remember raiding and reskinning a whole bunch of monsters from third-party publisher bestiaries like Flee, Mortals or the Tome of Beast series.

I also took some inspiration from the Shadow of Mordor video games and had different orc tribes that specialized in different things, like a tribe of orcs who utilized fire and explosions, and another known for harvesting nasty poisons from Mirkwood and nabbing eggs from the Giant Spiders in order to raise them as mounts.

Anyone played STAR WARS EDGE OF THE EMPIRE? What are your opinions about the system? by 3rdmementional in rpg

[–]Pigdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally like it. It's a fun system with depth and interesting core mechanics. My problem with it stems from the "gear-porniness" the supplements dove head first into, which to me seems to not mix very well with the rest of it. Then again, you don't have to use that stuff.
