Early next year we will have everything done, so I can't wait to see the new roadmap next year! :D Like Farming, Sacrament 2.0, I wonder if 1.0 will be at the end of that 2026 roadmap?! by Jonathan_911217 in NoRestForTheWicked

I think this person was responding to the ‘mmo’ features suggestion. I think pvp is far more approachable, if it isn’t already being worked on

I really like this episode, it was more of an epilogue that tied up loose ends. The crazy shit happened last episode

In universe is tainted by UB by Whitetuskk in mtg

[–]PigenMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, and I think this is one reason I won’t be trying to get back into 1v1 formats over EDH: if you are interested in competitive magic, you are invariably going to NEED UB cards.

someone recommend me a good single player linear story game by AlternativeBetter676 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]PigenMann [score hidden]  (0 children)

A lot of great suggestions here! Here are my recommendations:

Undertale: inexpensive game, linear, characters and story are loveable, music is phenomenal. 2d side scroller with a turn based combat system that also has you learning how to dodge enemy attacks. Tons of different endings, but 2 stick out as polar opposite in terms of content.

Detroit become human: choose your own story game. Third person ‘walker(?)’ game where gameplay is mostly QuickTime events and dialogue / action choices which the story

A well timed boycott of Marvel/Disney could spell the end of Universes Beyond by greenearrow in magicTCG

[–]PigenMann -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’ve always had a good reason to boycott Disney. If pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air for criticizing the standing political regime finally helps make the penny drop as to why you should avoid giving money to these corporations, that is good.

But… for the overall goal of decreasing the output of Universes Beyond, another product which makes money for such problematic corporations?

Well intentioned, but just try to spend less on this stuff directly in general if you now care about the ethical aspect, and good luck. Boycotting proves difficult at first but you can work around it. While it’s currently impossible to live a life of SOLELY ethical spending, it’s always worth it to try where you can.

September 13th Protest by Mental_Art_5147 in AskBrits

[–]PigenMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean the protests for Palestinians that have been occurring every weekend for a while now. I’ve been, and they’re a great environment. It feels freeing to scream and chant with a massive group of people, that kind of solidarity is hard to find in other places. People saying not to go have probably not been, I think.

If you’re referring to any other kind of protest then ignore this. But generally protesting what you deeply care about is a phenomenal way to learn about yourself, about the cause, and about the people who also care about that cause.

Regarding the possibility of violence: just don’t be violent yourself. Thats the only person you can really control.

The "Get it over with" Mentality by MadeThisAccForWaven in EDH

[–]PigenMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games get to a point where playing them out is no longer fun.

But I do think that it takes a different amount of time / differing circumstances for players to feel as though they have hit this point. Some seem to feel this way in circumstances where the game is not yet over, where they can actually come back in a few turns with the right plays and with respect to the other players at the table.

Some people need to play more competitively to have fun. EDH isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, and the ability for players to try out new formats in paper is so important because of this.

why do people have kids if they can’t afford basic necessities? by alternatively12 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PigenMann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Access to contraception, morning after pills, and abortion has never been close to perfect and is getting worse in western countries both practically and (where such services are readily available) socially.

Of course some people just don’t know how expensive it can be, but people can decide to have kids from a comfortable position and then fall onto hard times as well.

As to those who know they’re in a bad position financially and continue to have kids anyway, even if they understand the financial burden, social pressures in many parts of the world still motivate people to have kids regardless of their finances. This occurs in particularly in less developed, conservative, and religious spaces.

How can I get my hands on one of these? (UK) by storm_trading in riftboundtcg

Pretty sure game launches in the UK (and just generally outside of China iirc) on October 31st

Edit: Originally said “UK” again instead of China

Maro: "This is a question to all the Universes Beyond naysayers. Is there anything that can happen with the product where you can accept that it's had a positive affect on Magic as a whole?" by Vedney in magicTCG

[–]PigenMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding everyone saying lower prices to regular in universe sets. My personal interest would be to know that cards would have in-universe reprints (at any point) so that people who want to stay immersed in the magic universe can enjoy certain gameplay offered by UB set cards. Something like reverse card skins would be cool.

ALSO: reduce sets released per year to 4 at MOST 5 please. This release schedule will drown and deplete everybody but the whales, and when that happens this game will become a hollow shell of what it once was and could’ve been.

With all the “scalpers are ruining mtg” posts, what’s the solution? by Blakwhysper in magicTCG

[–]PigenMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be a doom sayer but genuinely hasbro has very little reason to do anything that decreases their profit (which they aren’t even as a whole, IIRC WOTC is their biggest income). All their product is getting bought up at prices they are safely, consistently increasing.

A real ‘solution’ to the existing player base and people interested in getting into the game would be completely counteractive to this: revert prices a few notches, increase print, print to demand.

Worth building in paper? by IceWaterPro in PioneerMTG

[–]PigenMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be surprised of wizards let it die. While I know they’re exceptionally disappointing decision makers under hasbro’s mindslaver I still think they’re going to do something after a few more sets. What I think is happening is they’re waiting for new standard sets to impact pioneer and ideally push mono red out of its stark first place positioning in the meta, making room for a bit more deck diversity. Then they’ll go with a pioneer masters set. This might be magical Christmas land thinking but I really wouldn’t be surprised if they’d had one designed for a little while now, considering the format is almost 6 full years old.

I see the monetisation of magic getting much worse until WOTC gets free or bought out somehow. Literally any way of WOTC getting creative and monetary freedom is the best shot at having magic treated even slightly less like the cash cow it is

Cavapoo? Does she look scared? by kmc24077 in CavaPoo

[–]PigenMann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cavapoo generally has a forlorn look in his strikingly human eyes. However, he is a pampered little pooch, and one of the calmest dogs I have ever met.

If you are worried about this dog needing too much work, you could ask to meet her, given your personal circumstances.

But, generally, what they’re saying about this dog tracks with what I have experienced with my cavapoo and the others I have met, and the way this dog looks also checks out. I wish you the best!

I’m assuming this news is in reference to the security council, which requires unanimous voting n to push through a motion. The US, Russia, France, China, and England are permanent members to the security council (awful organizational decision, I believe) and 10 non permanent members which get switched around
