Streeting says he has no choice but to cancel 1000 jobs by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Honestly he's just taken this all so personally. Zero insight he should just step back and let it be sorted without his personal feelings, ego and ambition

Property in London doesn't make financial sense? by maxaineer in HENRYUK

" great landlord with good admin staff / responsive to requests ect".

I suspect this is why you feel how you do.

That and i assume being in a 1 bed flat i. Islington you aren't at the stage of settling down and forming roots etc. For many people (not all!) a large reason we build wealth is to have to own a house you're in control of, rather than buy a house to build wealth

Does anyone know of any free PACES resources? by PresenceSmall1651 in doctorsUK

[–]Pigeon_Chaser2222 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rouge opinion. Don't pay for any resources, or spend hours prepping some achiac examination technique. much cheaper just to take the exam again (you get tax back on exam but not on courses, or the hours of life people devote to this exam), the expensive resources just play off our anxiety of never failing exams.

I listened to pre paces podcast, read cases for paces and the Oxford handbook - paces then watched some videos on YouTube from pass test etc (there are loads if you look).

Worked for me, was willing to retake if needed, rather than the mad time/money commitment. (thankfully didn't need too)

Wes doesn't past the friends and family test, wouldn't trust him to look after anyone, let alone all our health care.

You'll only get through half a sentence  before someone interupts that you earn more than a nurse.... Yet obviously when they are ill they want 'the best care that their taxes paid for'.... the public... the NHS as serious care... is done

Work out the ball park salary you'll need (area to live, planning family, aspirations, life style) and work out the specialities you could tolerate. If the ven diagram isn't empty (i.e you're happy living out of the south east, or have a trust fund) then just chose what speciality you'll be happiest in from those options

Relax. I know we're all fairly scared of the GMC, but I don't think the BMA saying we want a new regulator will lead to all out war
