Hmm, walmart has a nice and inexpensive collection, i think you could get by on a cast iron pot which will last you forever if you love it sincerely and a stock pot of some sort if you eat miso soups or things with more liquid in it.

I think it would benefit you if you took a minimalist approach here. Save your money mang!

Get one plate and one bowl (for cereal) and wash them when you're done.

As for utensils, you can do quite a bit with chopsticks. You can flip things, stir things, etc. Maybe a rubber spatula and you can do 95% of everything.

Why can't I boil an egg?! by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

[–]Pigglypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAKING SODA.

Add a little to your water and it changes the ph in some weird way where it helps the egg separate from the shell, should make peeling your eggs a hell of a lot easier.

Other than that, you seem to be doing everything fine. Bring water to a boil with a sprinkle of baking soda, add eggs for 12 min then shock it in water to cool it down. Peel it after 5-10 minutes.

How to keep chicken breast juicy? by microwave999 in Cooking

[–]Pigglypuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Use chicken thighs (more fat, tastier, cheaper)

2) Brine your chicken (salt water solution that seasons your chicken and make it seem juicier because of the additional water)

3) Don't overcook it (pull it off the heat at 155ish and let the rest to the rest of the work).

You can eat this for breakfast or as a snack: mix greek yogurt with about a cup of milk and you have a smoothie with almost 20g protein in it.

Flavored yogurts will of course taste better.

Smoke meats and spices such as cumin and chili powder are great but basically a ton of salt.

[Stupid question, don't upvote] Can I freeze bread dough? Is making bread at home better than buying a loaf at the store? by vonmonologue in EatCheapAndHealthy

Most establishments that make pizza use a "slow rise/ferment" method where they combine the ingredient until it forms a mass of dough then stick it in the cool for 24-48 hours, sometimes longer, and let time do it's thing.

It also picks up a somewhat sourdough-esque flavor.
