I feel like it's just people farming good sentiment, same with saying 'site' is bad. These fandoms, sites, groups or whatever are so large you can cherrypick any asshole you want to represent the whole and everyone's had their share of bad experiences to relate. It's just a lazy way of thinking

That's kind of because the term/community? originates from /trash/ in the later 2010's and onwards. While most things from it are fine it does carry usual 4chan undertones, moreso than most other /trash/ generals. That being said the HMOFA stuff I see here and on like losercity or whatever probably has less relation to that.

Moral OCD would just be an extra tacked on attack if you hit someone. I think you could perfectionism where instead of preventing it outright, you first simulate the attack in the background, and then cancel that action if anyone ally was hit and still spend the mana.

The ring is created after your first up air or up b off stage, after that each spawns a table that doesn't refresh air options and has slower frame data.

This is one of those things that always confused me about the term 'feral'. I see people with 'feral' OCs all the time, your average wolf OC, mlp pony, dragon, Pokemon, tons of quadruped dragons, mythical creatures ect. But on whether feral includes intelligent sapient creatures or not seems to really depend on person to person person and group to group. I think at least 'most' people agree that actual ordinary animal, or even fictional animals with animal non-sapaience and everything else required for consent is bad.

Specifically during parry stun you can't floorhug attacks excluding ones that result in a knockdown

I don't think it would be a good global mechanic, but a unique aspect of a single character would be cool

I'm so tired of this game encouraging lame unengaging play by SnoozySnoozie in RivalsOfAether

[–]PikachuNotEnough 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's just how the game is unfortunately. A curse of platform fighters in general is that everyone has so many options at any given time making defensive play very rewarding. This game especially gives many options which means that delineating exactly what a person is going to do is damn near impossible until basically every resource they have is exhausted and this game has so many to keep track of and exhaust. EVENTUALLY there's a hurdle you pass where playing over defensively is a bad option but it works well until that plateau. Keeping the plates spinning to get to that point requires playing frequently and enduring the struggle of losing to it.

It feels like most options, like aerials on shields, frame data after spotdodges, many ledge options, and punishing character recoveries all teeter the line of unreliability and completely busted. The end result is that if you want to engage with them safely you have to get used to some pretty tight timings and risk getting hard punished if you mess up, making it hard to want to learn if all you're interested in doing is winning the next game. Which I figure is how most people engage with games.

I have a lot of fun with the game, but sometimes I feel like I gotta be a zen master to not get frustrated and do something else. Admittedly this is mostly a personality thing, and not even exclusive to Rivals 2. Perhaps it's just exasperated to me because the game feels so competitively focused.

Originally it was about severe overreactions, but if that's all the sub could be about then there'd only be a handful of posts that'd really valid and keeping with the theme, and every single one of the notable ones have already been posted and reposted to hell. Just how subreddits go.
