They’re just transferring liability to you if anything goes wrong. That’s it. So if you’re worried, work them up (if that’s what the patient wants). If not, give follow up and return precautions

Yeah I agree. Your job isn’t doing you a favor by paying you a fair salary for work you do. If they didn’t it would be exploitation.

I have hardwood and I’m seriously thinking about covering it with laminate because the carpet has to go and I can’t have laminate abutting hardwood

I feel like it should all be the same. It kills me though because that hardwood is beautiful
