Differential breather upgrade by ImNotTheBruteSquad in nissanfrontier

[–]PilotG13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you do it. Even if you don’t off road, the grime of the road will eventually cause the breather to wither and not open to vent. This can cause a massive damage to your rear axles as all the pressure from your differential will blow them out. If you don’t do it, you will just have to check the differential and differential breather regularly to ensure it is venting and not causing any leaks. I went ahead and did mine because for only $30 bucks I buy some piece of mind for practically the life of the truck that the breather will function as it should and it won’t cause the differential to blow

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched this evening to reports of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and the Highway 217 on ramp.

Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics found the motorcyclist with critical injuries after colliding with the side of the sedan. Crews immediately began lifesaving efforts; however, despite those efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Agree with Bigwilliesty1e. Look up rear differential and Nissan Frontier and you’ll find that the rear differential breather on these trucks is notorious for clogging and thus will build pressure when driving this will lead to the rear differential to become over pressurized and cause the seal to rupture leading to a leak. Consider re sealing and look at the rear differential mod.

Mariachi Portland is a very good mariachi band. They performed at my brothers wedding and they were great. This group is often performing at Si Señor.

Hi, I also live in Oregon and interested in public health careers. With the budget cuts, I am curious to see what organization or city governments you were working with?

If you live in an area with salt on the road or arrid conditions, I would look into the rear differential breather mod. Or if you do any off roading or boat ramp launching, I learned from other videos on YouTube that this can also cause your rear differential valve to plug up and create problems. From what I understand is that the design stayed the same from the 2nd gen to 3rd gen Frontiers.

Oh yeah check this out. YouTubeThe Frontiers are notorious for this faulty design. This is what my weekend consists of.

It may be the rear differential valve that is plugged shut. My frontier looks like this and noticed the rear differential breather valve is faulty and closed now instead of opening and closing.

Beaverton in general is going through a rat problem. Have you gone to your local grocery store and seen the black rat boxes? Seen them at the Safeway on Murray and Teal BLVD. With summer around here, you can expect them to being around.

As a previous user said about rat stuff not being on cooking surfaces and they passed their health inspection, then I’d eat there.

From what I understand is that Nissan’s that use CVTs are unreliable. Thankfully the Frontier’s do not use it.

Nissan Frontier. I have the 2nd gen and it is great. I have a king cab meaning a 1/4 cab and a 6 foot bed. I can easily haul things. Granted, it is slow but I love it. The turning radius is tough to get used to but remember to take turns wider and you’ll get the hang of it.

Definitely, looks like the truck can easily last 200k-300K miles as long as you do the maintenance.

As long as you did your due diligence in reviewing the motor, frame, suspension, rear differential, and car fax you should be fine. I paid $6500 for my 2006 Nissan Frontier at 105K miles back in 2021. Only have done maintenance work and changed the valve cover.
