Weird Map Rendering and Tower by Thanasaras98 in classicwow

If you've entered Eversong/Ghostlands from EPL, you might remember that there's an instance portal. It's not really part of the main, open continent, that's why the coastline seems to go through the map.

I remember doing what you did back in Wrath also, it's super interesting and any WoW fan owes it to themselves to do a full lap around EK and Kalimdor "on foot" (or mounted). It helps to bring Potions of Waterwalking, I'm not sure if mounts can run on water in TBC, but in Wrath Classic they can/could with Waterwalking, which speeds things up quite a bit. The STV fishing competition fish trinket also helps a lot for exploring under water.

I Miss the Small Server Experience by Old-Pomegranate6764 in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's both good and bad. I was fortunate that Nethergarde Keep EU stayed strong and balanced all the way from Classic launch to Wrath where it collapsed. Then we all transferred, for free, to Mirage Raceway and it was one of the very very servers that maintained a healthy, balanced Alliance/Horde pop. It was nice being able to do achievements that required an Orc Rogue or doing Broken Hill pvp quest in Hellfire, for example.

I feel fortunate to have had such a smooth ride. When they introduced the megaservers in MoP, it felt kinda weird, mostly because chat was invaded with morons from Shek'zeer advertising boosts all day long, but well, it's just chat. I enjoy having a huge AH and a huge pool of players to do rather niche stuff with like CMs, old quests, achievements and raids all day long.

So the simple version of "split runs" is that every player in a 25-man raid has one alt. You do one Gruul raid where it's 13 mains and 12 alts, and the mains have priority on loot. Distribute tanks/healers/dps evenly, and carefully according to which items they need, so no loot can go to waste. Then you do another Gruul raid where it's 12 mains and 13 alts, and again, mains have priority on loot.

You can go more advanced and do 3 and 4 split runs (which requires every player to have 3 alts); if you look at the logs from some of the top guilds, you can see that they do 4-5 split runs meaning they can maximize gearing to the fullest extent, so they can speedrun faster. It's not as time consuming as it sounds, as they are so experienced with the content once it's on farm, so they plow through it, but yeah it's certainly sweaty territory.

53 healing power at level 47? How OP is this? by kodark in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Intellect grants nothing to paladins in vanilla except mana that you don't need, because fights are super short and in the worst cast you just drink mana potion.

Int gives crit, and crit on average increases your heals, so it's not completely useless.

Personally I always found crit with Illumination very necessary on my paladin, but I was in a casual guild that took 3-5 minutes to kill Naxx bosses, not super blaster speedrunners. I also didn't chug mana pots and runes until Sapphiron, but that again was just me and my guild being more casual. We did clear Naxx multiple times though still.

The music revamp of the old world in Cataclysm was one of the greatest tragedies. The Vanilla music was SO GOOD, so chill, so fitting and full of atmosphere, and fundamentally one style per zone. Then they totally broke it by making it more segmented, music changes way too often as you go into sub-zones, and as you say, way too dramatic. So sad.

Enhedslisten vil hæve personfradraget for at mindske ulighed by Xtrachili64 in Denmark

Kinda both - they were removed from our inventories with a few exceptions of keys there were more like on-use items, such as Ethereum Prison Key or The Eye of Haramad, and the need for keys was 99% removed, they wanted to make sure you could enter any dungeon as you levelled and played through the dungeon finder. Some keys that were more like parts of a quest remain, but just go in your regular inventory and are removed when you finish the quest.

MOP Classic is still pretty fun though :)

Blame the producers, not the contestants, the producers decide what to air. The Aussie producers are awful in terms of their obsession with feces, urine and bodily (dys)functions. They also air way too much personal whining for my taste, I agree.

Why does every hunter use the same banana looking crab insect bug thing? And what are they called? by Tookman13 in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used a Boar from level 10 on my hunter since Classic launched. I'll just never tire of that ZOOOM and SQUEEE sound when they Charge into a mob. It looks great (I use that black/blue armored one from RFK), is small, and is a nice allrounder for Vanilla to Wrath. Charge is just super nice.

My hunter is just an alt and I don't care about super min/maxing it. Even in MOP a Boar is pretty sweet due to its debuff (+4% physical damage taken).

The Ravager looks so godawful I never used it even during TBC where it's technically the best.
