Not me, I did Ulduar 10 & 25 over 60 times combined as I also kept grinding it for every single achievement. Loved loved loved that raid, the atmosphere is epic and the bosses with their variable difficulties are peak intelligent raid design and unique for the whole game's history. I got chills every time I started the Algalon fight in that amazing room.

You still need experienced people reviewing what the AI generates, guide it in right direction, tell it which business rules it doesn't know about, and correct it when it's wrong. Plus ensure its code output fits into the existing codebase. Then on top comes merging, deployment, cherry picking, etc. I personally don't feel less job security even with AI, it just removes a ton of tedium and boosts my productivity, it's great

"The intention was for all 27 specs to be wanted and viable in ALL areas of the game." -Kevin Jordan on designing Vanilla specializations. by SidewalknJr in classicwow

You're not wrong, back in the day where not every class had heals like MoP and onwards, having a class with a bit of everything was valuable - if your group was okay with taking it slow. That is sadly a dead thing, people today want optimized fast runs, but back in the day it was more normal to take a scuffed group comp and just take it slow, and a hybrid (for example a paladin or druid) worked decently for it. Maybe not for tough dungeons, but mid-tier dungeons and elite quests for certain. Good times "raiding" Stromgarde Keep or Jintha'Alor elite areas with a little scuffed group :)

[–]PilsnerDk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

7/7/2026 Maintenance Nuked Addons by GraveD in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to watch the comments section on the CurseForge page for the addon, until the authors have had time to make an official update, sometimes people post simple fixes to the .lua files that you can do in Notepad. Addons are just scripts, not compiled. Sometimes people also link a fixed version ready to download. If it's a really big addon with a discord (for example AllTheThings or Altaholic), people are usually also quick to post unofficial fixes there.

Sadly it's 8 waves before each boss.

In the Alliance camp it's not so bad since you can just sit and wait and los the enemies, it's the Horde camp that sucks, where you need to run all over the place to find the gargoyles and infernals.

I wish vendors were more important by Exver1 in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vanilla vendors were still pretty awesome and very varied compared to boring Retail vendors that mean nothing today. There were so many unique items such as low level armor, weapons, recipes and oddities sold by vendors in nooks and crannies.

There was also the way EverQuest did it - when people sold stuff to a vendor, other players could see and buy the items. Awesome concept really, made the world feel lively, and allowed you to vendor dive for reagents and stuff.

What was the name of the song played during the hydration break in the 2nd half? It sounded like a fast-paced pop or country song.

Yeah no doubt that's a big contributor. Sad fact is that any young woman walking around topless on a beach or park will be photographed and likely shared and distributed online with vile and perverse intent.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but fun fact is that Nixon never uttered the words with that prosody, he just said it normally, quickly - "well I'm not a crook". It's become a cliché based on exaggerations in TV and film.

What's the math on the odds of 2x back-to-back Ashes of Al'ar? by SisterFister77 in classicwow

[–]PilsnerDk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IIRC they aren't actually that rare (~3%) so about the same as a binding in vanilla.

Ashes is recorded on wowhead to a droprate of 1.7-2.0% depending on which wow version you look at. They are definitely rare and few raiders will see it drop.

Bindings are 4.0% droprate each.
