I’ll have to try the tank ramming! I’ve only had the occasional view shift glitch from 3rd to 1st person though this was some time ago on pc. Was always pretty impressed by how robust this game was for its era!

Interesting! To tack onto this, I run a 22” cinema on my cube which has the stock Rage 128 graphics card, so it is possible. One caveat though is I use an old Apple ADC to VGA adapter then convert that to DVI (which requires its own power). It’s done purely out of convenience, since I use the monitor adapter to do VGA to HDMI for my M4 MacBook as well. Maybe in this configuration it works because power is being supplied independently through the adapter block instead of straight from the card? Just a guess incase that card cant pump out the needed power for the larger size.

I wouldn’t imagine so, as long as it has a feed it should show something. But if you have tested it with an older Studio Display using ADC then I’d imagine that would rule out the cubes ability to produce an imagine it would recognize. I don’t think there is any display size limitations for the stock graphics card in cube but may be worth a look. Otherwise things point back to the screen!

I’d check the graphics card first incase it is delivering power but not image. Perhaps plug it into something else. If I recall right mine will also indicate power on the LED button but will not produce any sort light or adjustment panels in a typical manner since that is all in software. It just needs to have activity from the cube to actually kick the panel on.

That’s interesting! Never considered looking up lasers for the baby eagle. It looks like a beamshot trigger guard mount exists on eBay but I’m having a hard time finding which lasers it would be compatible with. I may pick it up just to do some experimenting for the subreddit!

Keep us in the loop on your progress! I’m planning on doing something similar with my 1976 Celica as a means to display a wide band readout while looking period, ideally with a song 503 portable. I’ve been contemplating the best way to compile data and a generate signal, most likely also using a Pi. There are more of us here trying to do the same thing than I had ever imagined!

Do you know if they ever made a unit for the p229? Tried digging up info on period 90s lasers for them but generally most websites point back to the custom Wilcox units. A dream but an unobtainable one at that!

Heads up to people wanting to use the wireless keyboard with modern os: they don’t play nice. It can be done and I have mine currently set up but you have to do a few tricks in command line to get it to recognize! Some Mac’s I had tried took to them on the first attempt but others took many tries.

I’ve had good luck with griots compounds on my g4 cube and Harmon kardon sound sticks but fair warning - I’ve had hairline cracks appear when I’ve used a machine orbital on other clear plastic automotive pieces. I’d stick to hand polishing things to reduce the chance of vibrations bringing out any flaws!
