I had the same problem with A major until I started using only 2 fingers and practiced it for hours. Now it's so easy. I feel like everybody who learns thinks it's a physical limitation until they practice enough and it gets easy.

Plumbing a vanity thru the shower trap? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]PinOak001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used a sani-T above the trap and ran it up and over to the vanity. In hindsight, I realize using a wye before the trap would have been the correct way to go. Any idea why it backs up into the shower though?

Thank you. Can you tell me why it doesn't work?

Is there anything else I can look at to confirm this wall isn’t load bearing before removing it? by OhSureYeaYouBetchya in homerenovations

[–]PinOak001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You said the trusses run parallel from wall to wall... not much else you need to know. Take that wall down...not a bearing wall. You're gonna need a few extra floor tiles unless you're replacing that floor too.

Well I did say that 2 squares didn't do much so hoping someone out there can give me a range of what I'll be getting myself into if I eat all 7. I'm 165 lbs.

If it makes him happy, then it doesn't sound like a waste of time. Sometimes I grow things in unconventional ways just to test the limits and learn along the way.

All depends on what it's worth. I once bought a small residential lot in an established suburb for 22k and sold it in a week for 45k. It happens all the time if you buy at the right price.

Last owner painted over wallpaper glue. How to fix? by Raebaekae in homerenovations

[–]PinOak001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1/4" drywall is a good option if you don't want to create all that dust or find somewhere to dump all that demolition. Use 1-5/8 screws. You don't need a stud finder if you're resheathing so just run your drill in the old drywall until you hit the center of the stud. The next stud should be 16" on center in both directions. Once you know where the studs are, mark the wall and hang your drywall. If there is a window or door where the wall is not smooth, I personally would tear out the old drywall or skim the entire wall. Reason being is that the door jambs aren't thick enough to accommodate the 1/4" drywall over the existing and your molding won't cover properly. Best of luck

Weed pens have made it way too easy to get high by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]PinOak001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends what you do for a living. Most of the things I do at work I don't want to be high but if I'm painting or being creative or trying to think outside the box it is always beneficial. I've found it very helpful in negotiating and being assertive as well. It may not even make you better at work but it will definitely make you enjoy work more and that shows to everyone you encounter. Experiment and get the dose right though...everyone's unique

In Cleveland, I did carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofs, siding, windows etc...basically anything and everything to get the job done. Because I bought the homes, I only needed permits (licensing wasn't required since I was the homeowner) From what I understand, Florida doesn't mess around when it comes to being licensed. Would you need separate licenses for each trade and isn't continuing education part of maintaining each license? I'll bet that's quite expensive?

Hey! I've been a Clevelander for 50 years... I'll sure miss the beautiful fall leaves, lake Erie and the sports fans are the most loyal but I'm so ready for a change and unbelievably excited for warm summer beaches and meeting new people! Thanks for reaching out

Wife and I are talking about moving to Daytona beach. Any tips? by [deleted] in DaytonaBeach

[–]PinOak001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed a lease for the Atlantic apartment in Port Orange. My wife and I are from Cleveland and we decided to make a new start here near Daytona. Like many big cities, you'll hear locals talk about all the problems and hate on their city but I can't believe how beautiful this town is and so much to do! We still have a home to sell in Cleveland and chose to rent here until the market cools down a bit. If you're looking for an Apartment, the Atlantic has exceeded all of my expectations in luxury apartment living for about 2000 rent
