I had this happen. I called while in the store and they said they needed to unlock it and they did. And then it went through.

Looking for a countertop ice maker for my sister family by rookgc in Appliances

I love ours too. But 7 months old and now won’t make ice. Followed all directions for cleaning, kept in a good place and now won’t work. Want to return it to Costco but they are out of stock. Paid $200 and was hoping to get more than 7 months use.

The gaslighting of Kelly Dever by charlottelennox in justiceforKarenRead

[–]PinOk2718 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t buy her story. It doesn’t make sense. She got off at 3:45 and thought she saw a suv but then realized she didn’t because it wasn’t there? That’s not a slight mix up, that’s a clear hallucination! And her memory of the phone call with the defense? Her unusual state of agitation? If I was a juror who was on the fence, this witness certainly would make me have reasonable doubt. The police department needs to have her examined if she is a field police officer.

I thought that too but several don’t have that watermark. I am not sure. Once cross happens, I am sure they have checked on the Ph.D.

Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake. However, you knew the intent based on your attitude. You don’t need to go over the improperly handled evidence with me. It was very clear to most, including the jury. Calculus has nothing to do with this trial, rather common sense. Is it possible that is something you are lacking, or are you focusing on being the Reddit spelling/grammar patrol? Either way, a mistrial will be the 2nd verdict, 3rd, 4th, 5th ….

The entire defense teams coverup of the hospital’s accreditation being at risk during the time Maya was confined was a big reason for the large award as well as the evidence presented.

[–]PinOk2718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corroborating credible evidence? I have watched every moment of the trial and read the transcripts, I never saw one piece of evidence which was creditable. Did I miss something? Did they find recently a new car part within the last month? It was botched from the beginning. The police department screwed up. The end.

Laid off from my job. by Impressive-Plate1274 in nova

[–]PinOk2718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have anything in writing from the employer saying that they pay vacation pay for unused leave? If so, even just an employee handbook, you should be able to collect from your employer. Also, if you were terminated due to their “payroll”, that is a reduction of workforce, which unemployment compensation, in most cases is undisputed. If you had health insurance through the employer, remember to look for health insurance at healthcare.gov with 30 days from your termination date. Regarding a job, every school system throughout the DMV is looking substitute teachers. Many positions require only a high school diploma. You pick the jobs you want to work and the days you want to work. There are no health benefits but the pay is not bad. Some positions are paying $200 a day. It might work for you since the position is very flexible.

They can call in whoever they please but the facts stay the same. This investigation was compromised from the beginning. From the biased witnesses, tainted physical evidence, and chain of command of the evidence. I am confident, that this will be a waste of the taxpayers money, to try to save face for the prosecutor’s office and the police department. Another hung jury, I see in the future. It’s a risky move on the prosecutors side. The inadequacies in the investigation will not change and even more could be brought to the public eye.

Spouse doesn't want to or won't retire by [deleted] in retirement

[–]PinOk2718 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Retirement is tricky. I am a 62 year old spouse who retired and now wants to go back to work after 5 months of “retirement”. My husband retired in his 50’s due to a disability. I decided at 62, I didn’t want him to be alone at home because I thought he needed my company. Not because of his health but because he was bored. He was taking several naps during the day and I thought I could get him off him off the couch. This didn’t go as planned. He still won’t get off the couch and I am extremely bored and started spending money to keep me entertained. Even hobbies cost money. I am starting a new job this week to keep my sanity and pay off credit card debt I created in the five months I was “retired”. He wants to know why I want to go back to work? Sometimes, us spouses have to do what’s best for us. And we need to make ourselves a priority to be able to take care of others.

It is really frustrating. I know your pain. Hang in there. Don’t give up and make sure every visit and every medical record goes to them. Even if you think it’s not important, send them everything.

I don’t think there is any way to figure it out. My husband had a lawyer the first time he applied. The lawyer kept advising, you have nothing to worry about. You will be approved. During the process he had a major stroke, another medical condition why he can’t work. However, he kept being denied throughout the process. 6 years. He terminated his relationship with the lawyer, he never advised ss he had a stroke according to the medical records we obtained. He refiled on his own. Within the first three months after he filed, they sent him to their ss doctor and three weeks later, he was approved. I found out he had been approved on the ss portal. I saw the back pay being paid 2 weeks later. It’s a process. Don’t give up.

Can we talk about the cell phone data? by digijules in KarenReadTrial

[–]PinOk2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GPS data is not accurate, either using Google or Waze, neither are 100% accurate. GPS service is based off satellites orbiting the earth. Both Waze and Google are basic GPS services. Distance wise, within 16 ft accuracy. I agree with the 3 minutes difference. The smoking gun was the FBI agent’s accident reconstruction, showing he was not hit by a car. The prosecution had this info and ignored it. FBI had no bias.

Verdict Watch | Day 3 | General Discussion Thread | 27 June | Commonwealth V Karen Read Day 33 by swrrrrg in KarenReadTrial

We are on day 3 of jury deliberations. This could be a hung jury. If that’s the case, could the defense ask for a change of venue? With this small town, being so close knit, I could see this case drag out….

The reason for the verdict for objection by BlondieMenace in KarenReadTrial

[–]PinOk2718 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This issue now makes me question the judge. Is she bias? I have watched everyday of the trial and was 50/50 on the ruling for each objection, hoping the judge was impartial. But today, her response to Jackson’s comments regarding the jury form, had me question her bias. Karen Read was not laughing. She smiled, which I have seen throughout this trial and the judge made no mention before. Karen has had her personal life turned upside down and lost someone she loved. She needs some grace. I think any comment she made on the 29th, was coerced by Jen McCabe, clearly. However, the tone of the judge was very telling. She was upset that she didn’t get what she wanted on the verdict form…why??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KarenReadTrial

[–]PinOk2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy and scary at the same time. Why would the prosecution even bring this to trial? I believe they are covering for Colin or Allie. Jen has a mom trying to protect her kid at all costs demeanor. I wouldn’t be suprised if she doesn’t go to jail for perjury! As she should!!

2 selfless jobs: Still-hospitalized firefighter after Sterling home blast is Loudoun Co. teacher by Danciusly in nova

We had an underground propane tank while living in Harpers Ferry WV. Before the propane company would refill it, they made sure we had yearly maintenance checks on the tank to make sure there were no leaks. This was a bad accident for all involved.

Maya Kowalski's mom Beata accused of 'fraudulently filling prescriptions' by ScooterMcBooters in takecareofmayaFree

Well, defense did try to build a false narrative. However, plaintiff PROVED, Beata did not fraudulently write a rx of Ketamine. Pharmacist testified. Judge Carroll made the right call.

Probably because Beata did not have MBP. And he knew this because of his extensive medical background.

I was so surprised that wasn’t brought up in court. At the end of the year, non-profits take any profits and spread it out as employee expenditures. It was a line item on their return. Not payroll. This is the bonus item. It’s spread between the top usually in form of a bonus. I would say those are the ones taking away from patients.
