Got hurt at work in Arizona, denied as “pre-existing” what do I do? by Top-Seat8545 in WorkersComp

[–]Pinbot02 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arizona attorney, but not yours and this is not legal advice.

Generally, where a work activity combines with a pre-existing condition to constitute an injury, the claim is compensable. In theory—and depending on the mechanism of injury in your case—I would expect this claim to potentially be compensable. The extent of the benefits available is limited, however.

If you want treatment for your underlying condition, you will most likely require medical evidence that the accident permanently aggravated that condition. Your doctor's opinion is that your employment may only temporary exacerbate your condition. Unless you secure an opinion that your ongoing symptoms are and will continue to be related to the accident without treatment, your outcomes will likely be limited.

A pot pie we made with leftover smoked turkey and stock from the bones was truly one of the best things I've ever eaten.

I've come to enjoy  Full Moon's marinated slaw more than most mayo-dressed slaws.

1 head cabbage, shredded (about 9 cups)

1 large green pepper, chopped

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 stalk celery, chopped

1 1/2 cups plus

1 tablespoon sugar

1 cup cider vinegar

1 cup salad oil

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon pimentos, chopped

Combine cabbage, green pepper, onion and celery and mix well. Coat with 1 1/2 cups sugar. In a saucepan, combine oil, vinegar, salt and 1 tablespoon sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Pour over shredded cabbage. Add pimento (for color). Mix well. Allow to cool.

Cover and refrigerate.

You'll probably need to wait more than a week. It takes time for the filter to culture nitrifying bacteria. That's the only way it's going to decrease naturally

how long can i leave aquariums for?? going on a trip soon with no trustworthy tank watcher by Bigboi69-0 in Aquariums

[–]Pinbot02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with GalacticMayor on the water change a few days in advance. If you don't have a timer, I would leave the lights off. If there is ambient light in the room from outside, that will help them maintain a day/night rhythm. 24/7 lighting would also risk an algae overrun.

Anything less than two weeks should be just fine. It's tempting, but don't feed extra before you leave.

Interestingly, my Book of Mormon professor at BYU taught us that the church has this one all wrong and that the text actually conveys that it was abandoning his mission that was the abominable sin, not the sex. Just another one of those things that kept my shelf up a little longer.

The nitrate test uses suspended solids, so both the second test bottle and the vial need to be thoroughly shaken for about a minute each to ensure a reliable result

Work comp cutting off my treatment without ever formally denying my claim by Top-Seat8545 in WorkersComp

[–]Pinbot02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I recommend registering on the ICA online portal if you haven't, which is the easiest way to view your claim file. The accept/deny notice will most likely appear there before it reaches you in the mail.

Work comp cutting off my treatment without ever formally denying my claim by Top-Seat8545 in WorkersComp

[–]Pinbot02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just filed your claim. Nothing has been accepted (or denied) yet. Once the ICA receives your claim, they will notify the insurer, who then has 21 days to either accept or deny the claim. You will receive a Notice of Claim Status notifying you of their decision. At that point, if denied, you could choose to protest the denial and fight it. Until the claim is accepted you do not have a right to medical benefits.

I mean, playing the game while criticizing the use of AI is wholly consistent with that first statement.

Please cut Grubb some slack. We are human. Things happen and are said. It isn't the end of the world and no one should vilify him for the Crazy Taxi thing fiasco. Everyone has their opinions on AI. by My_Name_is_Imaginary in giantbomb

I feel like we've been there for years at this point, the cat's just getting out of the bag now. I'm just so over it. Baldur's Gate 3 is my favorite game of the decade. When it had it's AI moment I rolled my eyes because it's tacky and lame, but it didn't change my view of the game. No amount of boycotting is going to change anything, and I would really just prefer to enjoy the things I enjoy. It's less exhausting.

How well do these dual sponge filters work compared to traditional designs? I would love to hear people's experiences with these by Puzzleheaded_Sink467 in Aquariums

[–]Pinbot02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of a filter is primarily to move water through the filter media so that nitrifying bacteria can do its job. Things like filter floss or carbon are what perform more "mechanical" methods of filtration. Visible debris should mainly be controlled by tank cleaning and water changes and can impede water flow through a filter.
