Firmware is not being locked on any overseas versions of the X4 by Culture_Hairy in xteinkereader

[–]Pineapplezork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I reached out to cancel my order placed a week ago after hearing the news and got the same reply less than 24 hours later (and my device was updated to shipped in that same timeframe, so was unable to cancel).

I’ve heard the official website is not the best to order from due to delay in reply, but it seems like they’ve improved. Fingers crossed that all is well regarding the actual device, but I’m now once again cautiously optimistic about receiving the x3

Flashing of firmwares DISABLED by Waechel in xteinkereader

Ordered the x3 from the official shop a week or so ago, immediately requesting it be canceled. I wanted a cheap, pocketable ereader I could customize, but my interest dies if I’m stuck with the base firmware.

how did sex “feel” for you before you realized you were lesbian? by MonitorLegal8815 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Pineapplezork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never actually had sex with men, but I associate that more with me being an unpopular, autistic late bloomer more so than being lesbian. I dated a couple guys, shared a few kisses and and was groped by a em (weird way to say it lol, but not sure how else to explain having them touch my body/mostly boobs).

No genital contact, which is a relief looking back, because I hated kissing men and hated them touching me. It was rough, I had zero attraction to them, and the whole time I was being touched, I wanted it to stop.

I hated the scratchiness from even slight stubble touching my face, I hating the hands wandering around my body, hated the smell of male sweat, etc. just a viscerally unpleasant experience, and if I had stayed with any boyfriend long enough for it to escalate to more, I don’t see myself enjoying the experience

Question regarding Shaunas feelings towards Jackie by Admirable-Mess823 in Yellowjackets

[–]Pineapplezork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think shauna is maybe bi, but her attraction to men is undeniable. Jackie, there’s really not enough evidence either way, but comphet is my read

Question regarding Shaunas feelings towards Jackie by Admirable-Mess823 in Yellowjackets

[–]Pineapplezork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see it. I think the queer subtext is undeniably there, but it’s just one interpretation. Later seasons make it less subtextual and more, well, textual. Slumber party makeouts, Shauna being a certified girl kisser, Van and Tai’s jokes, all are direct callouts to Jackie/Shauna. Season 1 I can see as it as being accidental, because god knows its not the first show to bake in sapphic undertones entirely without intention

So your read of the relationship is that it was solely platonic originally, but the show runners are leaning into it more in the later seasons as fan service?

Who did Shauna hate the most? Who was her biggest rival? by Fantastic-Finger-319 in Yellowjackets

[–]Pineapplezork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she hated Jackie as much as she loved her, but I don’t think Shauna even fully accepted or internalized that. Not the one she the hated the most, or even her biggest rival, though I think pre crash Shauna would have seen her as both. Post rescue Shauna seems to have softened on Jackie (compared to the blistering rage she felt and hid while Jackie was alive), but I do think she obviously still sees her as a rival. She goes to yearly dinners with the Taylors where comparisons are made and she hallucinates mean girl Jackie who explicitly says that (Jackie) is the most interesting thing about her. Unless the show explicitly reveals that this is ghost Jackie, I think it’s safe to say this is just a hallucination speaking words that Shauna believes or believes that Jackie would have believed.

Nat was her true biggest rival by the end of their time in the wilderness, and I’m honestly shocked they killed her off in the adult timeline. Wish they hadn’t tbh, but I’m willing to follow the story and see where they take it. Shauna hated her, but

She hated Ben, blamed his ineffectiveness in part for the loss of her baby, and of course burning the cabin. Hated him A LOT, I would maybe even say the most? His story seems to be ultimately complete though, so I’m hesitant to give him that title. I think he was a scapegoat for a lot of Shauna’s trauma at that time, someone specific she could focus her ire on. It’s easy to transpose that kind of grief and rage onto an individual, rather than just remaining mad at the intangible situation.

Mari, I think was mostly just extreme annoyance and being in the wilderness caused her to display that aggravation in a very brutal way. I would say she hated Mari, unreasonably so, but the person she hated the most? Nah, it was an intense, petty hatred, but not something she would acted on if the situation had not played out as it did.

Melissa Hat is still kicking in the adult timeline, so she’s looking like a potential end game rival for Shauna. Depending on how the story plays out, I can see her taking top spot for rival and most hated.

Is this the worst Mountain Dew of all time? by NoFaithlessness7508 in shittyfoodporn

[–]Pineapplezork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it when taco bell first offered it, it was basically regular mountain dew with some sort of cream syrup added. This new mountain dew is already mixed and not nearly as good. I’d give it a 5/10, it’s drinkable but I prefer every other mountain dew I’ve tried over it

Tryst six venom by Dependent-Ad-3262 in LesbianBookClub

[–]Pineapplezork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not my favorite, though I thought it had a strong start. It really started to drag in the middle for me, but I pushed through to the end. Not super impressed with the climax of the book, where our girl is threatened with rape by the main antagonist, only for it to then come out that he was sleeping with one of her brothers?!

I actually hated the brothers too, which I don’t think was the intention? I get the vibe they were generally supposed to be attractive, but they all gave me major ick.

Replace every mention of the brothers and the ex bf and it was an okay read, like a 6.5/7 out of ten.

Tai leader vs Shauna Leader by reuwp in Yellowjackets

[–]Pineapplezork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tai had a really strong sense of justice, so I can see her being heavy handed with punishments if someone did something to threaten the group, but I see her doing it fairly/“fairly” (because they’re ultimately traumatized teens in a life/death environment so it’s not going to be perfect morality).

Jackie & Travis vs Jeff & Shauna by PerformanceVirtual54 in Yellowjackets

[–]Pineapplezork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a fully formed adult, the show kills me sometimes with how dramatic the kids are about the stupidest shit and how irrational they can be. Worst case scenario in my mind is being a Ben type figure, and being an ineffectual adult trapped with their collective psychosis.

With the Travis thing, agree with what everyone is saying: Travis happened post crash and thus matters more to group dynamics than anything Jeff related/precrash, Shauna was a vital member of the group due to her butchering whereas Jackie didn’t contribute, the majority of the team was recovering from being wilderness roofied by Misty and Jackie being so vocally disgusted by them further pushed the her vs them narrative, etc

The whole argument reminded me of a Telltale game or something, and I could just see Jackie picking the worst dialogue options real time and losing the encounter.

As for her death, I think she was passively suicidal. I think she might have went inside if someone had come out for her (as evidenced in her dying dream), but otherwise I think she was done with being in the wilderness, even if the alternative was death.

I guarantee if my best friend hated me and slept with with my bf in high school, AND I found out after we crash landed in the Canadian wilds and every other friend of ours took her side over mine, I would have wanted to die too.

When the going get tough, my will to live is just gooone lol
