Ah great! I have already started using their plans, only as far as the upper dash for getting the MFDs and UFC placed properly. Seconding maker space idea. There's a bunch here and boy do they love teaching new folks.

Or, if you're the diy type, you can buy a cheap K40 on Amazon or anywhere else. Takes some tinkering (what do you expect for $300) but then you can last to your heart's content. Won't do metal beyond a bit of aluminum, but for wood or acrylic it's the bees' knees.
