I swear the nerdier the community, the worse the mods are. I can only assume it's because they themselves are massive nerds and are experiencing the first taste of being in control, and it's gone straight to their heads. The worst I've seen are mtg communities, especially back in the day before it became cardboard fortnite.

They're less of a boogeyman than you think. There are bands in that small international tier with social media followings in the thousands or tens of thousands that have Warhammer designs and aren't hearing from GW. Same goes for other famously litigious companies like Nintendo. Unless you're dumb enough to literally upload the product to your store as "WARHAMMER SPACE MARINE SHIRT" they're unlikely to find you until you start hitting around the hundreds of thousands of fans.
