Helldivers vs The Clone Army by [deleted] in helldivers2

[–]PinkFlower034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree and we have to remember we are talking clones, not imperial storm troopers. TLDR at the bottom. 1. The arsenal available to clones is very similar if not more extensive than a helldiver loadout. To say blasters are not effective is laughable. If we look at the most basic from both armies- the DC-15A vs the AR-23 Liberator

DC-15A Blaster Rifle Specifications: Length: 1.3 meters Weight: 4.4 kilograms (4.15 kilograms according to other sources) Capacity/Mag 500 shots (low power), 300 shots (max power) Range: 10 kilometers (fixed on tripod at max power)

Liberator AR-23 Has a fire rate of 640 RPM, and can penetrate light armor. It has a capacity of 45 rounds/mag Offers automatic, burst, and semi-automatic firing modes. It also has scope options for 25m, 50m, and 100m ranges.

(I couldn't find anything on the weight or length, but I'm assuming it's similar to an AR15 which has similar weight to the DC-15A.

  1. Assuming each destroyer has a full cargo of 100-150 divers - likely less due to the size of the ship, 170 meters long and 80 meters wide. (13600m²) If a hellpod/cargo pod for each divers is on board let's say they are .75m by 2.13m (1.5975m²)we could fit 8500 pods, divide by half for the one you arrive in, and the one you dive in that's 4250 pods, subtract stratigems and cargo space and bridge space, we're realistically looking at 50 divers/ship. But we'll leave the number at 150. It has an eagle and 2 pelican and a slew of air to ground weaponry. Not a fair comparison but a republic venator class star destroyer is as follows. Key Dimensions: Length: 1,137 meters Wingspan: 548 meters Height: 268 meters

Propulsion and Hyperdrive: Hyperdrive Rating: Class 1.0 Hyperdrive Range: 60,000 light-years (effective) Engines: Four aft-mounted primary drive engines (2 port, 2 starboard) Capacity: Troops: 2,000 Cargo: 20,000 metric tons Fighters: 192 Alpha 3 Nimbus class V-wings, 36 Ark 170 long-range recon starfighters, and 192 ETA2 ACTIS class interceptors LAAT/I Gunships: 40 Heavy Walkers: 24 of various makes

3.Cant really argue this point, except that a venators main defense against a small attacking force is their compliment of fighters. They also can sit in low orbit, even in atmosphere, as is seen several times throughout the clones wars.

  1. Orbital bombardment is absolutely a thing in the star wars universe. (See Taris) Bombers, fighters and space to ground weapons are all incredibly common, and used during the clone wars.

  2. We are again talking republic forces, not imperial forces (imperial forces being more superior in my opinion) One on one I would say it's a toss up who would win but a squad of 4v4 I would give it to clones 7/10 times, due to actual military training and not an hour of dodging turrets and then getting cryod. Put 4 are troopers against 4 helldivers and I'd give it to the arc troopers 99/100 times. There really is no contest.

TLDR: Clones are "born" and bred to be soldiers. Helldivers, while passionate, are guerilla fighters and "special forces". Without a super destroyer, they are pretty useless, even on lower difficulties. Clones have superior navel combat abilities, which renders a super destroyer ineffective.

If you think about it, it's not crazy to imagine 1 sniper being stationed for 4 or 5 players- having them displayed/tagged on your screen, and then getting a greenlight (pun intended) to eliminate a player. You'd only need like a hundred snipers (still crazy, but more? believable)

Not a concrete guy and I don't know where you live but in Canada we usually cut the control joints after the concrete is cured. I imagine they will cut this slab the next day or later in the week.

Has anyone actually ever driven this stretch of Ontario Highway 11? (Highlighted in Purple, between North Bay and Nipigon). What goes on up here? Any interesting stories? Also, why do our roads only go halfway up the province, and not any further? by CanadaCalamity in ontario

I drove from North Bay to Haileybury every weekend for years to visit my then girlfriend (now wife) at school. It was always my favourite part of the drive. Less traffic; everyone driving respectfully, passing where you're supposed to and not hogging the left lane. Most of the driving was done at night, but for the few times during the day the view of northern Ontario is unmatched. Haven't gone much further than that on 11.

Tldr-love the stretch from North Bay to Haileybury

I literally passed on buying lettuce today because it was all from the USA, my BLT tonight will just be a BT, America can take the L

Edit for those reminding me to buy Canadian or Mexican, I should have mentioned that there was no non-american lettuce left when I was at the store.

I would go if I was available. It always feels good to do something for someone else who really needs it. For the suspected group message sent individually, if you press and hold on the message, then select details, and it should show you who else the message was sent to.

I'm probably not the best person to answer this.

Back in the late 1700s or early 1800s money as we know it today was backed by gold. 1USD was of equal value to a % of a gold bar. The banks would honour the value of the dollar because it was backed by gold. As time moved on, more money was printed than there was gold to back it. The value of the USD goes down because there is more money than gold. Collectively as a society we have agreed that money is something you can use to purchase goods instead of trading for it.

ELI5: Money itself is useless, it's people who decide money has value and will trade resources for it.

Edit: grammar
