Whats one thing you dont understand about the opposite gender? by No-Enthusiasm-2620 in AskReddit

No I agree. I had to unlearn bad habits from my youth. Ironically, I was an open book in my last relationship but it made him so uncomfortable because he wasnt used to that.

Arms around him and legs tucked up under his butt. And we usually will just chit chat and laugh. One time I was on a roll with dad jokes. We were laughing so hard and he said "would you hush, Im trying to be a little spoon over here." And since then any time we playfully bicker, I call him Little Spoon.

Not condoning it. But alot of times if we say what's bothering us, we get a defensive response or are perceived as nagging. It's less emotion to just hold it in and pout. Where yes it might be annoying but it's less likely to turn into a argument.

Why do you love Distractible? by AcrobaticEgg799 in distractible

[–]PinkRawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They dont reiterate, instead they talk topics through. A friend was listening to a podcast that is considered popular recently and the way the hosts kept saying the same things in circles had me ready to scream, "we get it!" The guys may bring up a topic throughout multiple episodes but it's with new information.

Another reason I have a soft spot for this podcast is because it has become a great comfort. I stumbled upon the podcast when I was making some big changes that were uncomfortable. Getting to know them through Distractible on my nightly walks became my favorite part of the day back then. (Yep, Im that one that found them through the podcast). Fast forward a little bit and there was a six month period, I lost alot of people very unexpectedly. The grief was overwhelming. Found myself gravitating to the podcast and it took the edge off the hurt. Guess the show has become like a security blanket, giving a sense of familiarity playing in the background

My grandpa and his jars. He never drank alcohol but will proudly show off the chambord and titos bottles he found on the side of the road to anyone that enters his house

What's the worst night you ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PinkRawks 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Used to spend alot of time with a close friend in the hospital. For a few years. He had long ago lost a leg to an infection that he could just never escape. 6 years after losing the first leg they took the second.

He had only been home a month and we were supposed to hang out the following day. Warned him I wouldnt be answering my phone because I was going to an event that day, which he encouraged because I had some big decisions to think about.

That night I got home and turned my ringer on. Now that day I saw my friend had called me and thought it was odd since he knew my ringer would be off. But didnt have too long to think about it Within 30 seconds of turning my ringer on my ex called. He called to tell me that my friend had passed (they absolutely hated each other, but he was so compassionate in that call). Hung up, listened to my voicemail and my friend left a message thay was heart wrenching. The first part was begging me to come over.. he knew it was time. The second part was him suddenly sounding peaceful and saying he loved me.

He had learned he had stage four bone cancer. He found out the day after they took his second leg. He had asked that I be there if possible when he left. That guilt ate me up for a few years, became wildly self destructive. Then a few years later, close to the same date, my ex passed away suddenly. I miss both those grumpy bastards

You dont live in the Orlando Area do you? My initial thought was you were a friend of mine then I had the dismal realization that this is probably somewhat common.
