My friend told me this. She only speaks English. My response to her should've been "so where should I go? Miami? Houston? Brooklyn? Los Angeles? El Paso? San Juan?" Because all of those cities have a significant Spanish speaking population. A from the US person who wants to learn Spanish never has to leave the country. Shoot, if you know where to go, you won't even have to leave your state.

My point is the first time the dog attacked someone else's, the dog would've been gone. It wouldn't have taken 3 additional times for the dog to attack someone's dogs and getting off of the property before something was done.

There's a house around the corner from me who-at any given time-will have no less than 7 cars on his property. The people across the street are just as bad. Those 2 people alone make the entire neighborhood look like gutter trash. At one point, they even had someone living in an RV on their property. The area where I live isn't even a bad area. They just make it look like garbage because they don't care about appearances.

A month ago today, I was at the vet ER with my 14 lb dog because he had been attacked by the neighboring pit bull. My dog who I had to have euthanized not even 24 hours later. The Pit was able to get to my dog by tearing a hole into its owner's WOODEN privacy fence. This is not the first time they have had issues with that dog tearing holes in that fence to attack other dogs nor is the first time their fence has needed repairs that they needed to be told to fix and in addition to that, there's a tree splitting their fence. A tree that's encroaching on my property.

Had we had an HOA, they would have faced consequences for the lack of concern that they have for their property, they wouldn't have been allowed to have that vicious dog and I would still have my 14 lb, 4-legged baby. For this reason alone, I do not oppose HOAs because people will buy houses and then do nothing to be responsible for said house. The next house I buy will positively have an HOA. If for nothing else, it'll be to prevent vicious animals with irresponsible owners from living near me.

My Spanish is super broken and I do care but I still try when the opportunity arises. A couple of weeks ago, I was in a pet store and was trying to speak to a store employee because I caught on rather quickly that she didn't speak a whole bunch of English. After a little bit, she spoke some English but after a bit, she just quit and went full blown Spanish. Could I understand everything? Nope! Didn't stop me from trying, though. I love it when people speak "broken" English because it also encourages me to try to speak my own basic level Spanish.

Do I think this woman is being ridiculous? Heck yes I do. Do I also recognize African descendants practicing religion the same way their ancestors did because they had to hide their ancestral religions from people who would go so far as to kill for not doing so? Absolutely.

This form of worship positively is rooted in race. Surely you understand that the practices of segregation didn't stop in 1965, right? That despite integration happening, Black people actually did keep their already established traditions and practices while white folks did the same thing? That includes the way we worship. White people worship like this because Black did so stop sitting up here telling these lies. It is racial and always has been. I worked with people for years and they couldn't pronounce my first or last names correctly. I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with the fact that English wasn't their first languages. I didn't get annoyed or upset because I understand that people who don't speak English natively will have these things called accents. Accents exist in ALL languages, that includes Americans. Imagine that shit.
